Simply love the reopened North Bridge, where Edinburgh Council took advantage of eight years of works to put active travel and pedestrians first

Being an occasional observation of - among other things - the clutter, overgrowth, rubbish; and needless, unrecovered, forgotten or squint signage that mucks up Edinburgh. 🦮🚶🏽🏃🏼🚴🏼🚎🚗
I particularly like how they have paved over two drains. What could possibly go wrong?
Rejoice! Edinburgh’s got a new contender for the world’s worst cycle lane! Imagine a dark stormy night 😱 - needs a “cyclist dismount”, “road narrows on left”, “cycle lane closed” or whatever sign. Or maybe make the “keep right”permanent?
💦 Didn’t they foresee the splashing risk due to blocking drainage or is the puddle especially for cycles? The exit markings at Candlemaker Row MUST be realigned as the cycle markings lead directly into kerb & visibility for buses etc exiting is blocked 🙄 A primary cycle route downgrade yet again 🙁

Holyrood park: Closed path and roads Rockfalls Fires Etc Time for a concerted plan, including the Royal owner??
Your recent piece on unwanted signage stirred a long-held frustration. The city is littered with this kind of thing, should developers not at least have a statute of limitations (I.e. before it's knocked down again)?
My Report on SUVs was launched yesterday. transform.scot/2025/11/20/t... Consider Sports Utility in the context of vehicles - utility lies in being able to drive where other vehicles can't go. So that's not true. Urban roads don't need larger vehicles to provide utility. It's a misnomer, & much more

Well done @soundhouse.org.uk @thequeenshall.bsky.social Flyposting all over North Edinburgh, including every @bt.com box. Are you going to come and remove them all on 18 November, or leave it to @edinburghcouncil.bsky.social..?
More sympathy for #saveroseburnpath if this wasn't the campaign around the rest of the city path network. Or will every one of these be removed by the posters as well..?
Edinburgh Castle Rock vent basalts looking fine today in the morning sun 😍 Check out Edinburgh Geol Soc’s fab leaflet to learn more about the extinct volcano we have to thank for Edinburgh Castle being where it is! edinburghgeolsoc.org/downloads/lb... #edinburgh #geology #basalt #castle

Ok Edinburgh peeps, I want to know about your favourite MUNDANE, hidden in plain sight things. You know the kinda thing: signs, pipes, drain covers, stonework, door-knockers, street art, shop fronts, doorways, tenement tiles, ornaments, gates etc that you like but suspect no-one else even notices.

For a long time we’ve been asking for redundant BT phone kiosks (not the traditional red ones) to be removed. We have now received a list from Edinburgh Council of 133 sites where the phones box should be gone. If you want to know more details click through to our website: bit.ly/3YS7FUo
