Today I am mostly realising how hard it is to fettle an old bike *and* do a decent job of filming it. I am also finding I keep forgetting that the camera(s) are rolling and consequently, also forget I can't just freely break wind. There's going to be a lot of editing to do, tomorrow.

I've just seen Ashley Neal's video response to the cyclist fined £1000 (£1200 with costs) for 'close passing' a parked car. To the police he says 'well done'. What an utter turd. Completely ignores the risk a cyclist would take stopping and waiting, the danger being tailing distracted drivers.

Is it me or is the far right movement literally motivating its followers to bully cyclists off the road? The number of hateful accounts, usually Reform or Restore supporters, I've spent countless hours blocking on Faceache is nuts. And for some reason Faceache makes blocking tediously slow.

Being jobless sucks when a friend is selling a nice carbon framed rim braked bike which has done literally two miles. In fact, only the wheels have done two miles. The rest of the bike zero. First edition had a creaking BB so the bike was replaced under warranty, all except the wheels. Mad.

Bell bollards on the corners if regular iron bollards aren’t enough. Don’t get me started on how nothing in the road must be soft and flexible but an iron bollard is just fine in the middle of a cycleway or shared use path…

I wrote this to encourage urbanists to reflect on the ways the history of empires created the conditions for the ascendancy of the automobile. At the same time, I want to draw the problem of automobility to the attention of those already interested in imperialism and its legacies.

Just getting back into town after a 40 km bike ride. Filtered past a cager using his phone. Yelled put it down as I filtered by. I hope onto the shared path up the next hill, get stuck behind a pedestrian that's aloof. He ironically yells get a life as he drives past. Hmm.

I haven't really listened to any music in 6 to 8 weeks. Having spent a few hours scouring job sites and come away rather subdued, I turned on the Hi-Fi and played the first three tracks of Agnes Obel's Myopia. The soundscape painted in "Broken Sleep" is absolutely breathtaking.

These should be sensibly paid e-bike couriers instead.

It sucks to share scarce space with delivery robots. But - scaffolding narrows sidewalks - sawhorses & yellow barriers block entire sidewalk - cars encroaching bike lanes - curbside parking could be wider sidewalks & protected bike lanes - cars, cars, cars in the photo - robot replaces car

I left the van parked at the side of the road with hazards on to make a delivery. An idiot driver managed to clip it. 150m from a school entrance. In a 10 mph zone. If they can't see and avoid a white van with flashing lights on, in broad daylight, what chance have the school children got?

Could be that Government doesn't actually care. It is okay with the violation of the natural world and theft from us all, so long as it can stay in bed with the corrupt and wealthy.

Question for the hive mind. I have been using OpenShot on Debian to edit headcam footage. I have acquired a DJI Osmo Action 4 camera so I can get image stabilised footage. Does anyone know where I can get codecs to make the DJI video files editable using an open source workflow?

Drivers who post idiotic comments on social media showing how dangerous they are should have their licenses suspended. Okay, perhaps this plan has major flaws but it is a good thought experiment none the less.
