So often we link wellness to adjectives of positivity. Yet, in a neo-liberal, competitive, capitalist society, ‘good’ on its own is actually rarely enough. We are constantly looking for ‘better’ and then ‘best’. a-labour-of-moles.blogspot.com/2025/06/expl...

After years of trauma for my Autistic teen at physical schools, mainstream & specialist, & for us as a family, we have all benefited from education from home. Recently, he put into words why this was important & shared the idea of his ‘fuel bubble’. a-labour-of-moles.blogspot.com/2025/03/my-f...

Meantime, for those quite convinced that Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is nothing to do with Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), this, from PBS UK, who are promoting ABA and claiming that it's much better than it was. Mmm. Those following my page(s) get to see the reality of 'Brand New ABA'.

A poster from PBS UK for their conference 2025, promoting an ABA session called "Learning from the history of ABA" and claiming that ABA offers 'effective, ethical interventions that enhance lives...'

Multi-modal communication for all, always available "Different motor plans & lang. modes come to me in a way that isn't predictable. What helps me the most is always having access to all the ways I could possibly communicate, no matter how ‘advanced’". typertremblings.wordpress.com/2025/01/30/m...

In July last year a wonderful group of people came together to create an ebooklet on neurodiversity to raise money for the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Since then we have raised over £2000. Now more than ever the people of Gaza need our help. To get a copy see below. @commonsenseslt.bsky.social

Always worth remembering how much harder it is to attain #WeirdPride and acceptance if you come from a position of less privilege. Partly, any deviation from the 'default human' (male, white, straight, abled, etc etc) is automatically seen as weird, among the groups with the most cultural power.

No matter how much I like a popular, talented male artist, I cannot help but wonder how many women of equal caliber live and die in complete obscurity, never given the same chances to be weird and experimental. Woman breaks the rules, she's Doing It Wrong, but with men, they're groundbreaking.

1/3 Being busy or just being. Thoughts for wellbeing. Systems are always busy. Busy doing to, busy counting outcomes of what is done, busy counting those who are counting & doing. So much counting things that can be counted, but not everything that can be counted is necessarily good for wellbeing.

According to the conversations in Israeli media, one thing holding Israel back from a ceasefire was/is the concern that when western reporters and human rights groups are allowed in, the true scale of the crime will shock the global conscience in a way it hasn’t yet

We are a society swamped by misinformation. It tempts & reassures us. We see it, when we step away from its lure, into reality & see the world as it is. The social media posts of a #genocide, the destruction of climate & environment. This is the horror of 'real', not the fiction our politicians spin

There are simply two types of humans in the world. Those who believe in & represent humanity & those who don't. Underneath all the politics, rhetoric, spin it's that simple. History will judge.

1/6 Smoke from fires, bombs & shattered buildings fills the screens that reach out to those who dare to look. Through the shared electronic connections, the screens held by human hands across the divide of nations, we see the truth.
