Who knew predators could be this pretty? 🩷✨ The abyssal comb jelly (Beroe abyssicola) patrols the midnight zone searching for its favorite food—other comb jellies. When Beroe finds their next meal, rows of tiny cilia lining their mouths act like teeth, helping them grip onto their prey.
I know I talk about my tabletop stuff a lot, but if anyone's looking to make an indie video game, I can project manage, am good at narrative design, and can provide enthusiastic voice acting / good narration.
If you're in the UK, especially if you're Cisgender, today is a good day to start wearing a Trans Pin. That bastard EHRC guidance comes into effect today, and we need to know who our friends are.
Hi so, I'm struggling a bit money-wise right now so I'm sharing my games again! I'm also available for Art, Writing, Game Design, graphics and layout work, or consulting on any of those! That applies to both #ttrpgs and #Larp
Hi I'm Ferne Milton, Cobblesprite. I'm one half of CobblePath Games and its lead designer. My main purview is Game Design, but I also write and do art and layout. CobblePath Games has released a few games, available primarily on our Itch store. cobblepath-games.itch.io

if you suffer from motion sickness with first-person games, please try one of our "motion reduction overlays" in Big Walk — crosshair, frame, or both. this is experimental, but we really want to improve this accessibility issue. give it a bit of time (if you can) then report back!! here's "both":
Someone once told me that it's "classist" to advocate for people to have indoor cats because you need to buy them lots of expensive toys. Marcel has been playing with the discarded stem of a fresh green bean for 20 minutes. 🤷♀️
to be clear, i think that the aims of the EU are good! collecting consumer taxation is good, promoting consumer product safety is good, eliminating supply chain single-use materials is good. but the implementation is always "do wild levels of bureaucracy" plus "pay a professional European". bad.
Not only is "friendslop" good, this newly defined genre of tightly-focused multiplayer indie games have been able to swing at AAA live service games for real good reasons lately. Also, after the top of the page, I pitch the new name "bestiecore" here. Yay bestiecore. www.mmorpg.com/editorials/s...

Live service games are losing the plot, and Victoria is here to tell you why.

This is the sad reality of so many small businesses now. While billionaires are propped up, red tape and surmounting costs are only hurting indies.
No small business can do this. No small business can afford this. This was no longer a choice, or an option. The latest PPWR is the final nail in the coffin. Here you can see a breakdown of the unreasonable bureaucracy expected of us. We'll miss you, Europe.
The 5e errata pass for my Pride items zine is done! I am free! (to start work on the Pathfinder 2e version).
So, with the additional layer of new EU complications would anyone be able to explain to me why print on demand wouldn't be a viable approach to selling ttrpgs in the EU. This is not me expecting it to be viable, just wanting to understand the full sitch (and be able to explain it to others)
In honour of #InternationalOwlDay. (It may be a bit niche [or maybe not, seeing the popularity of #TheOdyssey], but it's my favourite of any memes I've made.)
Perfection. (Image is a photograph which has a fence post in the foreground, and and a grassy hill with cows on it in the background. Perspective makes it look like a tiny cow stands on top of the fence post).

This problem of "lay off the staff once a game is done, good or bad" is getting worse every month.
The "entire studio" behind FIFA’s official Netflix-exclusive World Cup game has reportedly been laid off. Former Refactor Games staff claim funding was pulled following the release of the game. www.videogameschronicle.com/news/the-ent...

Idk man I think a worker owned collective of journalists who aren't afraid to report complicated situations of harm in our industry is really good and I'd like to see it continue and hopefully one day expand. I'd love for said journalists to be able to earn a livable wage while doing it too. 💙

Small aside: there's also the wild notion that you can, you know, try to describe the damn thing. As in, the most basic part of the whole GMing effort, telling the table a thing.
"I'm entitled to whatever I want whenever I want it for any reason and I don't care what satisfying these urges does to me or the world" well okay dude, seems like there's something deeper going on here, but that's just my take

It's probably a good thing I don't have a regular income or DE would get a lot of it.

This is exactly why I've loved having Dungeon Bodega Simulator in this bundle. Getting laid of in 2025 was isolating and disheartening. The solidarity of this effort has felt the exact opposite. Devs supporting each other and showing up. This is what our industry is about!
A statement from our union president on the amazing turnout of support for the Game Industry Hardship Fund itch.io bundle 🙏 👇 The bundle is live for 10 more days to support devs in need, but a long-term difference can be made by joining UVW-CWA directly. ✊ uvw-cwa.org itch.io/b/3802/game-...

Social media bans cannot be effectively enforced, and come with profound implications for everyone's human rights. Nevertheless the EU and Irish government seem hell bent on pushing through similar legislation here, without presenting a shred of evidence that such a ban will have a positive impact.
Australia’s eSafety commissioner buried a report (released Friday afternoon) that shows the under 16 social media ban didn’t tangibly reduce teen social media use, and also resulted in parents tuning out of kids usage. We traded our privacy for no reason. theconversation.com/more-than-80...
