Disability & food policy, preferably with data. she/her. 💙😈🩷. none of this nonsense, please!

Apparently this platform has taken an official anti-death penalty stance, because they will suspend or ban users if they say that a specific person should be tried and executed for their crimes when that person has killed people. So long as that person isn't an elected official, it seems.

Anybody at @moderation.bsky.app want to try to explain why they suspended @matthewcort.land, ANOTHER of the most prominent people out here fighting for disabled and marginalized people? Like… are y'all planning to suspend/ban literally every disabled legal scholar/policy worker out here, orrrr…?

anyway, if you're looking for Matthew Cortland, you should sub to their patreon since they're a disabled lawyer evidently getting deplatformed from places.

if someone removes you as a follower on insta but does not stop following you, is that more likely a sign that they're interested in stirring up drama or that they just didn't finish the job for whatever reason?

If you're in the Boston area, Matt's overview of the nurse and clinician strike at Brigham is a must-read. If you can get out there to the picket lines and support the strikers, I hope you do. They are fighting for better pay and safer patients.

More than 4,000 Brigham and Women's nurses finished a one-day strike Thursday morning and showed up ready to work. Mass General Brigham locked them out until Monday. The CEO who locked them out paid herself $8.4 million www.patreon.com/mattbc/posts...

My sister, who is very similar to me, was diagnosed when we were kids. I was missed. We’re a natural experiment on this exact question. After diagnosis, my sister got kicked out of the school we both attended & thrown in special ed & ABA. She grew up being told she was a broken failure./

I think late diagnosed autistic people who genuinely believe that early diagnosis is a privilege should do the math, look up what the treatments and attitudes toward autism were like in their youth, and explain exactly what they believe they missed out on and what their outcome would have been.

every year i tell myself I won't be making any sort of special effort to read queer books during pride month because i read them all year long, and every year other people share lists of queer books that lengthen my TBR and mess up my short term reading plans!

Lololol I picked up a new interest which allowed me to figure out a whole additional red flag that goes nicely with someone’s red flag collection. Oh, you mean that wasn’t an oversight but instead is a consistent personality trait/intentional choice? Good to know.

Looking for: Songs to audition to add to a very eclectic playlist to lift weights to! Currently some of the playlist: MUNA, a bunch of the Heated Rivalry Soundtrack, Rage Against the Machine, AC/DC, Eve 6, Beastie Boys, Garbage, Hole, Dessa, The Mountain Goats, Fall Out Boy, Fatboy Slim.
