And now an interview with our hero. If you watched the series. Which I hope you have by now.

Somehow things that would have been a background gag in a Verhoeven movie are now just real
Sure why not, 1 like = 1 completely=mundane dull fact about me, I'll go until I'm bored.

We got bored and watched…sigh…the live-action GHOST IN THE SHELL movie.
We're remaking LAWRENCE OF ARABIA. The shark is TE Lawrence.
let's pretend: Universal announces a screenwriting contest for Jaws 5. What's your pitch?
People get to use the armed force of the state to make you leave the public square.
Sorry to harp on this, but these CEOs keep bringing up the idea of a "public square" and I don't think they've ever been to a public square. I don't have the right to talk to anyone in a real-life public square! People get to tell me to go away.
Elite chattering-class solidarity is an international problem.
Sad to see people posting on social media negatively about Rod Liddle, who died yesterday. If I have disagreed with you very strongly in life - and you die - I hope I'll be either silent, or kind.

kicking off week three of the @darkertimes.bsky.social subscriber drive with this kickass piece from @allyoutthere.bsky.social, which should put to rest any lingering ignorant comments along the lines of "horror for kids isn't scary" or "middle grade is dead" www.darkertimes.com/middle-grade...
If you can't avoid hitting this with your car, you aren't fit to drive and shouldn't have a license.

It's probably even worse, consider how loosely we define "journalist". Like, is an editorial writer a journalist? Is a one-person blog repeating the news feed a journalist?
There are 7 PR people for every journalist in the US. www.bloomberg.com/opinion/arti...
I know it's not quite what it means but this is what I always think about whenever I tell someone this shit is just getting them cuckolded by a talking calculator.
Another thought: in his statement, Hank Green expressed quite a lot of shame about the "dopamine hit" he gets from using AI. As a non-AI user I don't really know what he's referring to here. Is the AI voice flattering him while also doing his job (presumably poorly)? Because that's big weird.
I don't talk a lot about it because it's nobody's business but my partner works in the funerary industry & March '20 to June '21 broke them. A 9/11's worth of people died a day in the US, if you ever talk about how lockdown "wasn't worth it," and COVID-19 "wasn't that bad," I'm gonna [REDACTED].
We are in a sustained period of capitalism where every product/service is set to the absolute maximum cost and absolute lowest quality it can get away with. It's why even when economic signifiers are good, everyone feels the economy is terrible. Why? It's always the same answer: Private equity
“People used to save and buy high quality goods! Now they just want cheap, shoddy stuff!” Sure, buddy, and a family of four used to be comfortably middle class and own their own home on a single salary.
I cannot believe this even HAS to be boosted. It is essential that we protect and catalog this degree of comic history.
This seemed like it was worth boosting. www.kickstarter.com/projects/735...

I’m gonna buy some Pokémon cards and film myself using them in the bathroom to play solitaire.
K-pop star Momo is under fire after breaking open a vintage graded Pokémon card to stick it on her face and keep it in her phone case
We should ban attractive people from making country and rock music. I can’t take you seriously if at least two people in your band look like they bathe in cigarette smoke.
Post your hottest music take. Mine is New Order is better than Joy Division.
The faces of two assholes who knocked over half a bag of litter in the night and now are on a streak of trying to knock over drinking glasses and framed photos.

One of the things that drives me absolutely-fucking crazy about Being Online.
can we sometimes be asking "what qualifies this guy to speak on this subject?" or has that ship sailed
