"LLMs are just computers doing Algebra for fascists" is a completely correct take and the only examples anyone provides for why agentic AI is good are basically "it allows me to fuck off at work".

I'm a travel agent specializing in Disney, Universal, and cruises 🎢 Hybrid schooling a 2e kid who is addicted to books. I'm the hell of a mom & whimsical crocheter of What a Hell of a Way to Dad https://linktr.ee/cravescavesandgraves
CEOs: "why aren't people spending any money?" Because you spent decades suppressing wages & hoarding all the gains. Nobody barely making rent is buying a new car. Coupons can’t fix grocery prices. Y’all collude on everything else, maybe try colluding on PAYING PEOPLE MORE MONEY
Telling my 11 year old in the airport, "you always have my permission to break someone's face if they grab you and try to move you." She may be built like a mop but she has a red stripe belt in Taekwondo. Raise a generation of girls with unpredictable skills.
Re: current events, get your girls into martial arts. Raise a generation where an unpredictable number of girls isn't afraid to break some bones.
Mike Rogers is a corporate sellout who moves back to Michigan every few years to run for office to take another swing at the revolving door of corporate politics.
The biggest challenge with flying with a child and not checking a bag is the fact that kids toothpaste does not come in travel size other than bubble gum. Had anyone tested whether or not this is a medically necessary item under the newer relaxed rules?
Please support your local Girl Scout's fall fundraiser! It's 10x better than cookie season, with snacks, magazines (digital as well), candles, stationary, and even GS themed Bark Boxes. I manage Treats & Reads for our troop and almost no one participates, even though the troop keeps 15%.
“Surveillance pricing is a technique that's at the intersection of two things Americans hate: getting preyed on and being ripped off.” Check out my interview with consumer advocate @lindsayowens.bsky.social today in @wired.com! www.wired.com/story/how-to...
How to Beat Surveillance Pricing Before It Bleeds You Dry
Consumer advocate Lindsay Owen’s new book, Gouged, traces how corporations use software—from ever-changing prices to opaque algorithms—to squeeze every penny from you.

Scans from “Nomads” by Itsuro Naraki. Naraki is a Japanese photographer whose work is deeply influenced by Robert Frank. These portraits show people Naraki met on the street between 1986 and 1994. The book is available for purchase at Pinakotheca Books. IG t.archivist
Sewing on buttons makes me feel like I have the fine motor skills of a toddler but at least AI can't take this from me. Look for these e-reader sleeves at Leaves & Local at Carondelet Park with @whatahellofawaytodad.com this weekend 10/4 from 11-4!
This was in my IG feed last week. I am a travel agent. The LAST agent I would trust for access to this information is Muse/Meta. And they all suck. Last night, one travel software autopopulated "lights camera action, film fans will love the cineman" at a hotel with, you guessed it, no cinema.
“Agents like Muse are trying to convince us they’re just a cute little guy who lives in your pocket, and definitely not an always-open portal into the servers of a major surveillance company,” says @jathansadowski.com. My weekend report for @wired.com: www.wired.com/story/meta-m...
The kid got her red stripe belt in Taekwondo yesterday, and the other folks testing for red stripe and red belt were all over 35. I appreciated that the black belts made a point of recognizing how difficult it is to start a sport as an adult that requires you to look foolish before you advance.
What a disappointing old man take. My thread about being a travel agent was inspired by the iced coffee debate this morning. Being self employed is often a slog, but the looming threat of returning to stupid corporate rules keeps me going. Fueled by spite.
I’m sorry, but if you bring an iced coffee - or any damn beverage at all - to a job interview, you’re disqualified. It’s not hard, people.
Playing golf for the first time today. Can someone tell me which fit is correct?
I had a really good client ask for an informational yesterday, to learn about becoming a travel agent herself. She probably my most detailed oriented client, so I do think that she would be cut great at it. Here are some things I shared.
Between the dog's final illness, the kid being anxious about that & a Taekwondo belt test this weekend, and no antihistimines for me all week bc of allergy testing this morning, I have never been so uncomfortable. We are counting the minutes until lazy Sunday.
We're at Humane Society of Missouri for Dolly Parton Reading Stampede. The kid always wants to read to cats but I said I wanted to take my sign to the dog kennels. FIRST dog I see is a Great Pyrenees mix. (We had to put our Pyr down yesterday. 💔)
Family with 5 kids walking into Costco on a Friday morning, and each kid grabbing a cart, should be illegal.
This is the Stolen Neighbors Quilt. Each of the 11,000 squares represents a person taken by ICE in Minnesota.
"She was the best dog she knew how to be." Great Pyrenees come pre-loaded with instructions and need nothing from you besides peanut butter Kongs. According to many trainers and groomers she was, "actually pretty good for a Pyr."
We had to say goodbye to our big pup today. Old lady was having a lot of problems in the last couple of months and I've seen that deteriorate very fast in big breeds. She was the best dog she knew how to be

I still hate how much I have to use Facebook as a parent, but at least the thought, "I cannot watch the dumbest people alive argue about this," comes to me much faster than it used to
A thread on a lot of behind the scenes conversation that has been happening in our house this summer. If we have one strength, it has always been the ability to pivot on a dime. (Yes, you may drop that Ross gif)
I'm experimenting with ads on the main feed after some conversations with listeners and non listeners. I understand there is 'subscriber fatigue' happening as every form of entertainment is asking for a couple bucks a month, and not everyone knows or wants to know what Patreon is
Best part of finally getting fall weather is that the windows are open and we've had constant traffic at the Little Free Libraries all day 📚 If you use our Bookshop link it helps us keep the library stocked! bookshop.org/shop/hellofa...
We have *six days* left until the Academy of Natural Sciences, North America's oldest Natural History museum, is scheduled to close it's doors. Here are *six reasons* why we cannot - and will not- let that happen.
One of the big challenges of being neurospicy and not really looking at other people very much is that moment when when you look at someone and realize that the hairclip that "just doesn't work in my hair" has been user error all along. Probably should have noticed that some time ago. 🤣
You too can go scream in the woods and then bury yourself in the ground for seventeen years whatahellofawaytodad.com
Wearing my new shirt today - thanks @whatahellofawaytodad.com !
Again: "Tilly Norwood" is not a person; it is a shoddy, and also pretty gross puppet. Stop referring to it as "she," and start asking whether there might be something a bit off about wanting to promote a sexualized but also childlike "actor" that can never tell its creators or users "no."
