We already have a draconian, uncompassionate system for dealing with refugees. We don't need to be crueler. Also, there are much easier ways for 'terrorists' to come to Australia. So, this is about a) playing to a racist base and/or b) a looming climate crisis where fleeing is the only option.

Said so beautifully. The violence and murder of Jewish Australians as well as the murder of so many Jewish people on Oct 7 was horrific. But the continuing genocide of over 73,000 Palestinians makes the two events above pale in comparison. All of them are wrong.

My children convinced me I should watch the new version of Little House on the Prairie. 1. I think they think that 'wholesome' TV is my thing (as well as super heroes, even they can't miss that) 2. Is it wholesome? I'm still thinking about it. It's trying to be?
