Hey, scam that almost got me this morning — A series of texts basically identical to ones Amazon has previously sent when something was recalled. It was early for my second-shift ass, so I clicked as far as the link (no information was entered). Phone number was spoofed, but the URL was weird.

Food, man. Food is so much better than it was in 1986. All of it. Poor-people food, restaurant food, fresh food, frozen food. Food is just a hell of a lot better.

air travel is one of those experiences that has gotten monotonically worse over my entire lifetime

question though: has *anything* in the last 40+ years genuinely gotten *better*?

like, there's *more* stuff, sure, but is any of it *better*?

No Smoking Laws I don’t know how to express to people who didn’t live thru it: there used to be cigarette smoke EVERYWHERE… in restaurants, planes, hotels, SCHOOLS, doctors’ offices. Everywhere. I have asthma and had bronchitis multiple times a year. I’m so grateful for those laws.

I find myself burning with incandescent rage at the way all the civics and constitutional rules and laws I learned my whole life are actually just suggestions if the ppl in congress have a deficiency in courage "A gentleman's agreement only works if the ppl involved are gentlemen "
