Never forget, if you design a city for cars, it fails for everyone, including drivers. If you design a multi-modal city that makes walking, biking & public transit attractive options, it works better for everyone, including drivers. INCLUDING DRIVERS. The “war on cars” has always been a lie.

Slide from Brent Toderian at @toderianUW.bsky.social that says “If you design a city for cars, it fails for everyone, including drivers. If you design a multi-model city, it works better for everyone, including drivers.”

Oh, and don't forget the transformation of its scarce rail infrastructure with virtually no passenger service (does it sound familiar, Canada?) into a fast, electrified suburban train line, Metrotren Nos, running every 8-12 minutes, with a second line now under construction involving a 3 km tunnel

I guess this has probably already gone viral somewhere but I am simply dying at this picture of a bear that looks like it hired a photographer to do a glamour shoot

What’s interesting about this is it’s not as if Air Canada is favouring customers or shareholders when it abuses its employees. The stock has been dead in the water for years, and no comment on its customer service or ticket prices is necessary. It exists only to serve a handful of executives.

"If you had made a decision not to vaccinate because measles was not circulating, that's no longer true. We don't have herd immunity."

"This transmission is just out of the box. It's impossible to contain at the present time," he said.

"The risk, right now, of your child getting measles in Alberta if they're not immunized is pretty high."

Gregson is urging parents who have opted not to immunize their children to rethink that decision.

"If you had made a decision not to vaccinate because measles was not circulating, that's no longer true. We don't have herd immunity. There's measles circulating in the community. And the best way to prevent your child from having a complication would be to get them vaccinated," he said.

New study finds that air filters in schools reduces the number of sick days kids take. Clean air works wonders. It’s egregious that we haven’t adopted it in all public places by now. It reduces risk of COVID & other viral infections, allergies, asthma and helps with pollution and wildfire smoke!

Air filters in classrooms reduce sick days by more than 10 per cent

Putting air filters in classrooms seems to boost student attendance, which may be due to them reducing levels of air pollution, pollen, pathogens or all three

Remember when we told you abandoning disabled and immunocompromised people (while actively making more people disabled and immunocompromised) for a convenience-first “you do you” public health (eugenics) regime was actually just the first step? This is what we meant.

Poilievre kept repeating talking points, saying “vote for change”. HE’S BEEN IN PARLIAMENT FOR 20 YEARS! He was part of the Harper gov’t in power for a decade with the worst economic record, worst jobs growth since WWII. The highest trade deficits in Canadian history! That’s not change! #Debate2025
