I just finished @add-hawk.bsky.social ‘s excellent and comprehensive book The Score. Lots of anecdotes and personal stories mixed in with some very insightful observations and an interesting extended metaphor using the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse. Definitely worthwhile.
Watching my husband teach our son how to play golf so he can play with his girlfriend’s dad is one of the most heartwarming things I have ever witnessed.
I've commented before that as far as empty platitudes go, I prefer "thoughts and prayers" to "hate has no place here". At least the former acknowledges that there is something to think about and pray for.

Authentic feminism is sharp in tooth and claw. I learned that lesson long ago. I am always baffled by people who seem to think it should be kind, gentle, self sacrificing and accommodating. Presumably because they think that all women should be those things.
