Most of the corruption perpetrated by the Trump admin would not be possible without the complicit enabling of the Republican majorities in the House and Senate. The only way to put any check and balance on this out of control regime is to vote them out in November.

👀 Spot-on review of the sinister, shameless legacy of questionably alive Mitch McConnell by @paulwaldman.bsky.social at @atrupar.com's PN: 🧾 t2m.co/yLVwhzsL Mitch's signature move was time-blocking the Merrick Garland SCOTUS nomination, but it's emblematic of his lasting strategy *out of the gate*.

The first key moment came when Barack Obama was elected in 2008. Though Obama had won a sweeping victory and the country was in the midst of a catastrophic economic crisis, McConnell told his caucus they had a path back to power: Obstruct everything Obama tried to do, regardless of whether Republicans had any substantive objections to it. Only if they forced Obama to fail could they retake power. If it seemed like the parties were working together, he explained, Obama would get the credit; if all the public saw was gridlock and nasty infighting, the president would get the blame.

BTW, this is how vouchers have ALWAYS worked when implemented. (1) Almost all the vouchers go to families already privately schooling their kids. (2) Once the vouchers are a thing, the private schools hike their tuition so that the few poors who get vouchers still can't afford them. #Segregation

Pro-tip for the Swalwell campaign staff now maligning the women accusing their boss of sexual misconduct: it's not worth it. There will be other campaigns and other candidates but there will never be another time that you won't regret behaving this way towards survivors.
