I am apparently in a nostalgic mood this weekend. I started assembling my Optimus Prime LEGO set while watching the 1984 Transformers movie. Then (because the set wasn’t done), I started a Motor City Movie Marathon. The Crow, Robocop, and Grosse Pointe Blank. It was unintentional, just a mood.

Xennial sapphic trans femme/them trying to find community in the digital wasteland.
"trans rights are ai rights" ffs in half the country trans panic defenses are still legal but you'll get sent to prison for damaging a data center. 400k trans people had to relocate last year. the llm that isn't even sentient has more rights than us. genuinely what the fuck are we doing rn
I dunno man Will trans folks always exist and continue to do so no matter what happens? Yes, absolutely. Does that make it easier to see the head of the country say trans folks will "end" if the party remains in power in two months? Nope. Even after years of this, that one is a gut punch.
When all of the worst fucking people you have *ever* seen are transphobic, being pro-trans is a huge way of indicating that you actually might disagree with them. Dem centrists, by constantly trying to throw trans people into the woodchipper too, indicate how much they agree with these freaks.
I will never vote for a Democrat that abandons transgender people. It's a cancer and I'll take the pain of a Republican over losing Democrats as a party and therefore losing our rights for an entire generation with nobody left to fight for us. We cannot reward this at all.
Iowa Democratic Governor Candidate Rob Sand becomes the latest to throw transgender people under the bus. In an interview this weekend, he told Politico that "girls sports are for girls," decrying Democrats for being too caught up in "culture war" issues. Subscribe to support our journalism.
Watching the new Harry Potter series is a clear signal that you'll support JK Rowling no matter how many lives she takes. It shows that holocaust denial and destroying human rights groups isn't a deal-breaker for you. It has never been easier to take the right side of history.
I genuinely am begging people not to watch the new HP show. Like, also don't buy any branded stuff - she makes money off all that. But especially don't watch the damn show.
Ugh, and I just discovered that a chunk of the ceiling in the bedroom I’ve been using for storage fell down at some point. At least the management company seems to be being decent about addressing it so far.
Having a big dysphoria morning. Feeling like everything feminine about me is fake and false and a failure. Maybe it’s because this weekend I have custody of the kids and that’s reminding me of my role in their creation. Maybe it’s just a mood. 🤷♀️ either way I’m being overly self-deprecating today.
I don’t know how, I would have been, like, 2 and a half, but I have very clear memories of seeing the news reports about the assassination of George Moscone and Harvey Milk. (Which I find kinda interesting given where my life went since then.)
What's the first historic event that you remember?
Please, read the entire 🧵. This is the problem with centrist Democrats trying to find common ground with MAGA Republicans who are dead set on enacting genocide. Multiple genocides in fact. To long have centrists allowed the tolerance of intolerance.
You know, I really don't love seeing seemingly every person on the "left" praising politicians for saying that trans rights don't matter. They just say, oh, it's some fringe issue, nobody cares, let's focus on the real issues... and Dems eat it up.
A friend posted this, but doesn’t have quote reskeets enabled. This does not include all of the places that I have traveled through by car, bus, or train without actually intending to “visit”. (Rest stops and meal breaks don’t count as visits IMO.)
Tonight I had a wonderful time at Camp Miasma. If you’re a fan of the slasher genre, and a fan of Cabin in the Woods, this is the movie for you. Yes it’s probably Jane Schoenbrun’s most mainstream work yet, but it does have its… unique moments. It’s like a warm hug…. a warm bloody hug.
I am once again reminded of this chart about lefties.
@rikiwilchins.bsky.social Worth nothing that all these polls using slightly different measures and questions to determine who is trans or gay, but it seems earlier estimates were clearly way too conservative. Also startling that there are about as many trans as gay adults in US.
Oh look, the Mattachine Society still exists and is still steeped in respectability politics. They’ve just changed their name.
@rikiwilchins.bsky.social 2026 Jul Never one to shun running from a tough fight, after 11 years Log Cabin Republicans throw trans people under the bus, joining LGB Alliance and Gays Against Groomers as gay only. You were never much help anyway, guys. www.cnn.com/2026/08/21/p...
I couldn’t find the original posts, but this was the greatest explanation I’ve heard.

I know there are lot of people who think voting does nothing to stop fascism, but I do notice that one group who seems to think voting does something to stop fascism are the fascists, who are trying to prevent it as much as possible.
Well, voting’s not important or anything so no biggie. ncnewsline.com/2026/08/20/n...
Some cis people see it and get it. Most seem to either just not care, deny it, or outright cheer it. If you are cis, and want to be considered an ally, you need to be loud and right there with us.

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy I worshipped that as a kid, the books, the radio play, the TV series. It was absolutely formative for me.
Okay. You have unfortunately been hit with the curse that makes you adapt a work you liked as a kid into a ttrpg. What thing are you adapting?
Little advertised HRT effects: I am currently having to shop for new shoes again. My feet have slowly shrunk from a 12.5 to a 10* over the last 3 years. I have managed to lose no weight, but I keep needing new shoes because the ones I got last year are now too big. *US women’s (EU 44 to 40)
I was asked why I seemed so tired recently, I had a very good response: I’m trans in this socio-political environment. The antidepressants keep me from falling asleep, the anti anxiety meds keep me from waking up, and neither is getting rid of the nightmares that wake me in between. I am so tired.
How did I miss this? Apparently, back in May, CERN announced confirmation that the LHC has been turning Lead into Gold (small amounts temporarily , but…). Alchemy apparently simply requires particle accelerators, who knew? home.cern/alice-detect...

THIS IS WHY WE DON'T LISTEN TO THE CENTRISTS. Alt text version:
Remember this image every time someone tells you that protesters are "hurting their cause." Those people are the red bars. In 40 years, we'll look back at them the same way.
“Trans people didn’t exist before 2006!”
From this very site a few weeks back, it's why I simply don't engage with transphobes, they live in a different reality (20 years ago I'd been transitioned for nearly a decade and was close to 20 years since I first came out)
