S: I wonder how many other trans women in physically oriented work fields find it as affirming as I do when the boys struggle to pick up something we just put down. I have a gender identity, and it's specifically Muscle Mommy

Another instance of trans people being right and transphobes being wrong.
wow really
Today is the day the story There Will Come Soft Rain is set. An amazing and heartbreaking work of fiction for our modern age. Read it here:
This is awesome, and it's exciting and heartwarming to see someone with plural friends reaching out to other plural systems to better understand their friends' lived experience.
(I am asking this in earnest, please be patient with me! I want to emphasize I'm genuinely curious and if I ask a dumb question please know I'm not trying to be offensive. I never know where to look for information and when I do find it it's... nebulous? And I've never known how to breach the topic)
For our system, shifting is a blurry enough transition that we don't know it's happening until the personality coming to the front is fully in control. The conscious part of the mind stays conscious; from the perspective of the shared conscious mind, it feels as if we become the other person.
What does fronting feel like? What does shifting feel like? How do yall know when it happens? Do alters have conversations with each other, or "you"? Does your body feel like a vessel that is being controlled by different people in your head? Do yall experience memory loss or physical effects?
S: Many of the hallmark features of #DID - the different ego states, each having their own partial access to memories, their own triggers, their own coping mechanisms, their own attitudes and belief sets - have always been with me.
Questions for my System followers! I had a very insightful talk today with some friends who are systems and I wanted to get other people's experiences and opinions. If you're comfortable sharing, how did you know yall were a system? What does it feel like? How long have yall been a system?
electrical engineers are on the verge of a breakthrough in their study of the energy output of rapid oscillation between "saying dumb shit" and "crying about it"
huge fan of the cropped versions bluesky shows you as well
Some great new reaction images to use when people are obtuse on BlueSky.
Let me say that again: waiting 1-2 years to let trans teens start HRT really is not supported by the research literature any longer. The kids so infrequently stop HRT that the delay in treatment probably causes more harm than it prevents. It's time to phase out puberty blockers for trans teens.
To say the obvious part first: if your kid tells you they're trans, they're virtually guaranteed to be right. But there really is a broader point here, and it needs to be said plainly at this point: puberty blockers--the compromise position on HRT--are unneeded. Just let them start HRT.
Another study on youth transition that find that about 97% of all youth who says they're trans turn out to be. Only 1.1% who start HRT stopped it for any reason whatsoever. This is, like, the fifth youth transition study that I'm aware of, and all of their results have been identical.
Canadian researchers found that 97 percent of youth who seek treatment for gender dysphoria still identify as trans years later.
L: My kingdom for a cable channel that does for Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake novels what AMC has done for the works of Anne Rice
like two billion moms are gonna go see this shit and think it's the greatest thing of all time please make your monsterfuckery as weird as possible okay
L: I subscribed to one Starcraft streamer and now every ad I see on Youtube is for a hentai game, an AI girlfriend, or the latest breakthrough in dick pills
a bunch of popular ASMR artists lost their channels forever this week, after YouTube cited them for violating terms against "sexually gratifying" content: www.404media.co/youtube-asmr...
L: Some trans experiences are so universal that I'd have a winning BINGO card if you were to make one out of the replies
They’re SO formulaic! IME when a cis stranger says “So I ask you something?” 9/10 times they want forgiveness for mistreating a family member. Usually they cry. They always misgender the relative. 2/3 of the time they ask about my genitals and they ALWAYS touch my body without permission.
L: We've received positive feedback in the past from other systems about how far our collective has come in being able to live and work together in a very short amount of time (we only started taking our self-diagnosis seriously in February). It's overdue that we give credit where it's due.
Shout out to everyone’s coping skills, you got this 💕 Enjoy your weekend
The tragic murder of John Lennon spared us from having to watch him age into a right-winger
Post your hottest music take. Mine is New Order is better than Joy Division.
Especially now, it’s not trivial to post about trans joy. It’s necessary. Every trans person who shares their joy sends a message of hope to others who may be struggling. And everyone who uplifts those posts helps spread that light, hope and visibility even further.
C: Finally getting a chance to weight in on the dark night of the soul one of our alters had last night. Kay is to be commended for waking up and trying to defuse the situation right away, as is Sage for her comments this morning.
S: Thinking a lot this morning about that video clip from the Despite System that I shared yesterday. About what she said: it's not my fault that I'm mentally ill, but it's my responsibility.

S: Yesterday's job application included psychological and cognitive tests, and chat, I am placing a lot of faith in the alter who did them
Do you reckon when Patrick Stewart proposed to his wife he just pointed to her and said "engaged"
I believe the reason this happens is that the misery of untreated dysphoria is so distracting that every other problem that isn't immediately life-threatening has to sit on the back burner. Transitioning gave me the relief I needed to start unpacking other things.
Hey babe, welcome to year 3 of transition. Time to find out you have DID
i cant pretend anymore smash burgers arnt real theyre just burgers weve been eating burgers the whole time everybody
The cross-platform enshittification of search functionality is such an infuriating exercise of authoritarian creep. They would like to kill the inclination to find information & enforce satisfaction with be fed information.
And if this is you, or might be soon: we've all been there. We all know that fear. And fwiw, I've never met anyone who wished they'd stayed home.
