Fiftysomething, Plural, Trans, Veteran Posts by alters denoted by first letter of post B: Betty C: Candace J: Judd K: Kay k: Kai L: Lisa S: Sage Dani's the system as a whole, the name assigned to the face Pronouns: She/Her

S: I wonder how many other trans women in physically oriented work fields find it as affirming as I do when the boys struggle to pick up something we just put down. I have a gender identity, and it's specifically Muscle Mommy

For our system, shifting is a blurry enough transition that we don't know it's happening until the personality coming to the front is fully in control. The conscious part of the mind stays conscious; from the perspective of the shared conscious mind, it feels as if we become the other person.

What does fronting feel like? What does shifting feel like? How do yall know when it happens? Do alters have conversations with each other, or "you"? Does your body feel like a vessel that is being controlled by different people in your head? Do yall experience memory loss or physical effects?

Let me say that again: waiting 1-2 years to let trans teens start HRT really is not supported by the research literature any longer. The kids so infrequently stop HRT that the delay in treatment probably causes more harm than it prevents. It's time to phase out puberty blockers for trans teens.

To say the obvious part first: if your kid tells you they're trans, they're virtually guaranteed to be right. But there really is a broader point here, and it needs to be said plainly at this point: puberty blockers--the compromise position on HRT--are unneeded. Just let them start HRT.

Another study on youth transition that find that about 97% of all youth who says they're trans turn out to be. Only 1.1% who start HRT stopped it for any reason whatsoever. This is, like, the fifth youth transition study that I'm aware of, and all of their results have been identical.

Canadian researchers found that 97 percent of youth who seek treatment for gender dysphoria still identify as trans years later.

L: We've received positive feedback in the past from other systems about how far our collective has come in being able to live and work together in a very short amount of time (we only started taking our self-diagnosis seriously in February). It's overdue that we give credit where it's due.

Especially now, it’s not trivial to post about trans joy. It’s necessary. Every trans person who shares their joy sends a message of hope to others who may be struggling. And everyone who uplifts those posts helps spread that light, hope and visibility even further.

C: Finally getting a chance to weight in on the dark night of the soul one of our alters had last night. Kay is to be commended for waking up and trying to defuse the situation right away, as is Sage for her comments this morning.

S: Thinking a lot this morning about that video clip from the Despite System that I shared yesterday. About what she said: it's not my fault that I'm mentally ill, but it's my responsibility.

The cross-platform enshittification of search functionality is such an infuriating exercise of authoritarian creep. They would like to kill the inclination to find information & enforce satisfaction with be fed information.
