Third Person Limited@thirdpersonlimited.bsky.social · 2mo agoWe also dug into 'Angel Down', the most recent Pulitzer winner for fiction, and found this story of a celestial being who is dragged through the muck of World War I’s trenches compelling in spite of the gimmick that Nate didn’t like.
28 books ago, I put all my chips on the idea that the best use of my time was NOT to promote a book, but rather spend that time just writing the next book. Largely it worked, largely down that path I continue.

I finished this year's Pulitzer Prize winning novel, Angel Down by Daniel Kraus. I do not like all the Pulitzer Prize winning novels, by a long shot. Angel Down was really amazing to read, it transported me, it made me think, and I'm glad to have had that experience. 📖

A thing I learned on my fifth book - The Death & Life of Zebulon Finch - and still try to employ. Take the weird, colorful, ragged, quirky, fucked-up side character - and make *them* the protagonist. Somehow I'd been programmed to make the quiet thinker the main character. I've unprogrammed it!

I finished Angel Down my best advice is: avoid any info about the book and dive in blind, so you can form your own thoughts on it it’s worth a read 100%
i have to learn not to start reading a new book at midnight just to see what the vibe is like. it is 6 am and i really enjoyed the entire novel "angel down"
about 100 pages into this and already had at least three “oh i’m glad i’m not eating right now” moments, highly recommend
