Peer urges Tories to block candidate jailed for antisemitic abuse against her but being as Badenoch has the emotional intelligence of a blade of grass, supreme arrogance and sees spelling as the only difference between Right & Wrong.. She refuses to do so as she’s racing Reform to the bottom❗️

Peer urges Tories to block candidate jailed for antisemitic abuse against her

Joshua Bonehill-Paine was jailed over neo-Nazi activism, but has been selected to stand in a new Somerset Council seat in 2027.

This is absolutely extraordinary. It's hard to know where to start. The utter tone-deafness? The scorn towards local government? The high-handed dismissiveness towards people affected by racism and antisemitism? Badenoch is an X-brained crackpot.

Bild

Didn't we have a few years of panic over antisemitism in the Labour Party under Corbyn? Anyway, the Tories have a literal neo-Nazi running for local council, backed by Badenoch, but he's no longer an *antisemitic* neo-Nazi because he says he supports Israel

A side note to this insanity. There's a clear pattern from Badenoch of demeaning local public service, diminishing their contributions to society - hence why she thinks 'nice Lib Dems fix church roofs' is such a derogatory statement. It's going to become a lot more jarring with talk of devolution.

This is *such* a revealing line about Kemi's world view and contempt for those who do the day to day work of keeping our society functioning

I still think the chances of Badenoch ending up as a senior figure in the next government (even potentially PM) thanks to FPTP are massively under-rated. She'd be worse than Farage, IMO, because she is driven by conviction, not grift.

Kemi Badenoch has many flaws but an inability to recognise wounds which need to be cauterised as quickly as possible, and an impulse instead to double down, is a serious one.

Kemi badenoch playing neo nazi top trumps really !!! In the end we get the politicians we deserve so it’s beholden on us all not to vote for Farage lLowe or Badenoch let’s get back to the caring tolerant country we all use to love before it’s too late !!! #r4today

Where on earth does Badenoch get the bare faced cheek to pop back into the #R4today to pontificate about early release? It’s ONLY happening because the Tories deliberately & negligently cut funding without a plan to manage services through their austerity

Kemi Badenoch on Today defending the neo-Nazi council candidate by saying that it is right to give those who have previously been radicalised a chance. Badenoch on Shamima Begum, whom was groomed by Islamic State when a child, "Citizenship is a privilege, she forfeited it." 🤔

So Badenoch would recruit a neo-Nazi but *not* someone who didn’t want to leave the ECHR or someone who supported our NetZero commitments. Second chances for this guy but not Dominic Grieve. The Tory party is truly wretched. It’s screwed the country, betrayed its own and lost its tiny mind.

Badenoch defends former neo-Nazi pick as council candidate
By Will Meakin-Durrant
Kemi Badenoch has said her party
"believes in second chances".
, after
the Conservatives selected a former neo-Nazi once jailed for harassing a Jewish former MP as a local election candidate.
Joshua Bonehill-Paine
posted on social media that he was "tremendously proud" that he has been chosen to stand for election to Somerset Coun-cil, in the Crewkerne South ward.
Bonehill-Paine (inset) was jailed in 2016 after he was convicted of racially aggravated harassment.
He wrote several blog posts about the former Labour MP for Liverpool Wavertree, Baroness Luciana Berger, labelling her "an evil money-grabber" with a "deep-rooted hatred of men".

He was previously jailed for producing an ad illustrated with a picture of the Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz, which promised "an absolute gas" at a rally in Golders Green, north London.
Badenoch said: "I want to be very clear - and I think people can look at me and know that I'm not a person who would be recruiting neo-Nazis.
"Josh is someone who actually has been certified by the Home Office to train police officers on antisemitism and on countering extremism.
"Yes, he [has] previously convicted but he has shown contrition for his crimes, has been rehabilitated and is spending every day working to solve the very problem which he knew that he had caused previously.
"And the Conservative Party believes in second chances."

Badenoch represents double-down conservatism. Never apologise or moderate. Insult your opponents. Patronise journalists when challenged. Contradict yourself, lie, whatever it takes, but never back down. And that's how you end up creating an extremely avoidable Tory antisemitism scandal overnight
