Pro UK in EU(only voting for parties who support this. No more tactical voting). Fossil Fuel lobby are the Luddites of today. Enjoys cycling and travels. Retired.

French forces held a fierce defensive perimeter around Dunkirk and lost 18,000 souls. 40,000 became POWs. Without their resolve we wouldn’t have our nation’s story. It’s estimated 20-60k French resistance fighters died during the war. These fuckers really are vile bastards 😡😡

Very obliging of #r4today to lead with Reform’s ‘plan’ to stop the boats using the Royal Navy, pretending it’ll be some great WWII-style escapade, rather than a hateful, costly, diplomatically incontinent mess. A total waste of everyone’s time as they’ll never be in power and it’s unworkable anyway.

Consider the technology difference between 1900 and 1960. Nearly 60yrs have passed since mankind worked out how to land on the moon and return to earth, yet today we are pumping sewage into the rivers and seas.

The powerful fossil fuel companies, who have influence across the media and politics will push it’s interests, by trying to convince us that our interests are best served by adapting to climate change. It’s BS, we need to rid ourselves of ff. Governments should be working to achieve it.

It is exactly two years today since loveable racist Lucy Connolly posted a Tweet encouraging people to burn down hotels housing asylum seekers. Making her exactly the sort of person I'm proud to be associated with.

What could be more performative than the Conservatives calling for a recall of parliament when most of them are on holiday? To respond to a policy needed because of their utter mismanagement of the prison system They are not serious politicians www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Badenoch calls for emergency legislation to stop early release scheme

Last week Andy Burnham announced he was pausing early release plans for September after backlash from survivors and victims.

Anyway, our relationship with the U.S. should not just be about ‘the national interest’. It should be about human rights, about international law, about morality and ethics.

The scientifically illiterate team of presenters of #r4today continue to fiddle while the world burns. The climate emergency is the issue of the age but they are much more clued-up about political trivia and gossip than anything else.

Justin stuck in his “where’s the money coming from?” groove over small spending commitments. These sums are lost in the rounding. A 0.1% move in bond yields saves or costs the UK government £1.5-2B in interest. The numbers are not static! Yields currently about 0.1% lower than in May. #r4today
