Venturing over here for a look. To quote myself, “I told the people of my district that I would serve them as faithfully as I had done; but if not, they might go to hell, and I would go to The Other Site.”

LMFAO Rick here was touting Platner as the guy whose bio was the way to win back the lost working class voters (despite zero polling showing that happening) and now that it’s fallen apart we’re blaming this on other people “fetishizing combat service.” What a joke.

Good thread about the history of streetcars as public transportation. I often see really clickbaity "transit" accounts do comparison maps between the early 20th century and the present, saying "look how much transit got wiped out" and...it largely didnt get wiped out. It became busses.

this is not true. there was no conspiracy. it didn't matter whether the streetcars were publicly owned (seattle, detroit) or private (los angeles, atlanta). a thread (because i wrote a whole-ass book on this): 1/?

Kinda wild there’s theoretically stuff out there that would be disqualifying in a Governor race that never came out in the Senate race—and that he still lost said Senate race anyway. (Unless he did it in the last four years, which, jeez what an idiot)

EXCLUSIVE: Mandela Barnes is considering dropping out of the primary for Wisconsin governor as state Democrats brace for damaging articles about him to publish.

I don’t even think the ad will be effective but man does it take gall for the Pod Save guys of all people to start opining on whether it’s damaging to be closely connected with Graham Platner. A truly impressive level of shamelessness

1) Trying to pretend this very basic metaphor about repeated maintenance is somehow about Israel-Palestine is absurdly dumb and obviously bad faith 2) The attempted meta-narrative about the phrase is a perfect example of how this movement exists to just pretend Hamas doesn’t exist at all

yeah you can’t say that shit and *if* you accidentally did you better be tripping over yourself to apologize

Love when people go “campism is bad and it’s bad it’s normalized” and then can’t even go two skeets without normalizing it some more because we gotta say the normie candidate was also just as bad lest the internet think we’re uncool
