In a grand feat of Sci-Fi trickery I will be at Worldcon while not at Worldcon (ie, Virtual Worldcon). I'm doing a workshop, a table talk, a reading and a couple of panels, which I am REALLY excited about. Here's where you can find me.
This 1899 clip of a little girl and her cat is the oldest surviving cat footage on film, just 4 years after the Lumiere brothers invented cinema. Now colorized and speed corrected.
Such a gorgeous event, and I have to say, the Irish fantasy writers and readers have been so welcoming to both me and Sister Wake - it's really appreciated! It's also inspired me to trek to my first FantasyCon in October, so watch this space, if you're going I'd love to meet you and nerd out!

Is this a good time to mention that in college my History of Translation lecturer (Michael Cronin) told us that one of the first vernacular translations of The Illiad was into Irish, and the translator had to give the main characters dogs because in Gaelic society a free man had a dog
