A handful of professional cyclists have been hit by cars before and during races this summer and it was inevitable that one of these crashes would end in death. It should be obvious by now that we persistently underestimate and ignore the danger that cars pose to people.

This was a great book, all the more impressive for the fact that @jonathanslaght.com managed to turn a second-hand account into an adventure story that felt really personal and urgent.
it's International Tiger Day! How about you pick up my book charting the remarkable recovery of Amur (Siberian) tigers in northeast Asia? Cable cars/gondolas are often seen as an ineffective gimmick just for tourists. But they do fill a genuine transport niche in urban places with rough cliffs and ridges—like the Palisades in Hudson County. We should build some here.
The list of problems with implementation of the new NJ e-bike law is long — and lawmakers who passed it aren’t talking. - MVC is backpedaling on multiple issues - People w/disabilities are out of luck - insurance requirement doesn’t cover e-bike rider I dove into as many angles as possible ⬇️
Cyclists are frustrated, upset. Is NJ's new e-bike law already broken?
New Jersey's new e-bike law - the strictest in the country - goes into effect July 19, but it's causing confusion for cyclists, tourists and even MVC.

I went to a state college very near Princeton, NJ and a freshman went missing and it was discovered that he'd died in an EXTREMELY specific way in what seemed like a horrible accident, and like, two months later, JCO wrote a short story with what can only be described as "almost identical" details.
to release the blood-bead, or whatever it was,
www.reddit.com/r/jerseycity... A Jake Ephros staffer was a victim of a hit and run last night, suffering a broken arm. While the admin is increasing enforcement, I don't like how the mayor keeps saying it's focused on 440/JFK to target non-residents. $10 the perpetrator here was cutting through TPK.

Hillbilly Eulogy
Ohio has known hucksters like J. D. Vance before. The state has a long memory for men who climb the ladder and then kick it down after them.

I drew this art and designed this poster for beloved local Jersey City institution Pet Shop's 10th Anniversary and I had fun doing it.

From @theathletic.com: When Victor Wembanyama went to Gramercy Park before Game 3 to sketch a statue, it was more than just having fun in his free time. It was his process. As he sat there, sketching Hamlet, he saw his perspective on a tragic figure.
A driver getting a ticket for running a stop sigh is so novel in Jersey City that it literally made the newspaper www.nj.com/news/2026/06...
