The co-founder of the 2024 National Uncommitted Movement, Abbas Alawieh, decisively won his primary to become a State Senator in Michigan. Abbas was endorsed by both Bernie Sanders and Gretchen Whitmer. Abbas Alawieh also privately met with former VP Kamala Harris last month upon her request.
Ben Shapiro has recreated Judeo-Bolshevism from first principles, just replacing "Jew" with "Muslim."
Ben Shapiro probably does not know enough history to even know this, but the way he is talking about Muslims as a nation within the nation who can never be integrated is almost verbatim what European nationalists said about Jews in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

El-Sayed: "I believe in equal rights to peace, dignity, and self-determination, for Palestinians and Jewish Israelis alike... If that’s 2 states, I’m for it. If it’s 1 state, I’m for that. If it’s this 'land for all' model, ... or whatever they decide." www.newyorker.com/news/the-new...
Abdul El-Sayed’s Argument for America—and Against His Own Party
The Michigan U.S. Senate candidate on campaigning with Hasan Piker, being a capitalist, and why his fellow-Democrats need to “stop compromising.”

This is the correct answer. The principle that every person living between the Mediterranean and the Jordan should have equal rights and self-determination is far more important than the number of states.

This is correct. The current incarnation of the GOP and particularly the MAGA movement make my job feel less stable and make me feel less safe as a Jewish person.
As a Religious Studies professor, this directly targets my livelihood in a way that makes a mockery of any supposed profession of concern the administration has ever expressed for me as a Jewish person on campus.

President Trump is banning students majoring in degrees that don’t make enough money from taking out college loans. Degrees for social work, art, religious studies, teaching aides, and music will be hit the hardest. trib.al/aaAEu6v
Once again, a report from my hometown. I hate the Israeli government, have long opposed the occupation, the destruction of Gaza, settler pogroms in the West Bank, discrimination against non-Jewish citizens of Israel, the list goes on. This still scares me: www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

That's straight up Islamophobic bigotry. Block her wherever you see her.
It is in fact racist to call an Arab with views you disagree with an antisemite. I know this will be a surprise to many but unless that person is actually saying something antisemitic, the Arab is not genetically predisposed to antisemitism
I'm on "the left" (non-socialist but believe in a high taxes, expansive welfare state, regulated markets, strong unions, green policies, less militaristic foreign policy, left on "social issues"). I think much (but not all) of the left is deeply un-pragmatic and terrible at building a "big tent."
Hot take: A certain kind of American leftism is deeply culturally Protestant, even if it disbelieves in God, because of its preeminent focus on having the right inner mindset and intention and feeling properly guilty about one's moral failings to live up to a certain standard.

One thing you can see in the latest Stancil blowup is that a sizable share of this website thinks that good intentions are the only thing that matter in policymaking, and expressing skepticism that a policy will really work as intended is equivalent to stealing food from the poor.

The Conference of Presidents would have you believe that words matter so much that Mamdani's words about Netanyahu directly provoked antisemitic violence in NYC... but words are also so irrelevant that the words of Israel's Minister of National Security say nothing about Israeli state policy.
The guy that they want you to be terrified of (Mamdani) is making sure kids in NYC are fed all summer and people have access to cheaper groceries, all while they take food away from kids getting SNAP. Just sayin, feeding kids should make you the good guy.
The deep truth on JD Vance is spoken by Noah Smith here: “I will never forget the "Haitians eating cats" lie. I will never let it go. It was so deliberate and monstrous and unprovoked and cruel, and no one has ever apologized for it…. JD Vance even admitted that they lied. What a barbarous act… 1/
CROSSPOST: Lyz Lenz: Who Will You Blame When They [the Haitian Immigrants] Are Gone?
Lyz Lenz "did not intend to come to Springfield, Ohio, the week that temporary protected status (TPS) ended for Haitian immigrants"; Trump is truly an evil, racist monster. And so is JD Vance...

Had a lovely conversation in English and Hebrew with my Israeli locksmith. He grew up in Beersheva but has lived in the Philly-area for a couple of decades. His Tunisian mother is Orthodox and lives in a settlement near Hebron, but his politics are closer to mine than they are to hers.
My top conversation starting t-shirts are my Expos, Habs, and Nordiques shirts, and one that says “Montreal bagels are better than New York’s.”
Daughter: “What’s a “guest appearance?’” Me: “Remember when Ms. Rachel was on that episode of Blippy? That was a guest appearance.”
I’m sure I’m not the first person to say this, but it just occurred to me that Ms. Rachel is from Maine and she should have run for Senate instead of Graham Platner.
"Remigration" is the polite term for forced deportations of unwanted minorities and ethnic cleansing. The punishment for being a "traitor" is execution. But yeah, you've got to stay on Twitter for baseball highlights or some shit. I get it.
the restore 'remigration' plan musk has endorsed would see 10 million brits forcibly expelled
Trump has posted about Trump 2028 at least 8 times in the last few hours, including this:
Netanyahu does not care about the safety of Jews in New York or anywhere else outside of Israel. He is perfectly happy to instrumentalize the Jewish Diaspora for his own political interests.
Netanyahu on Fox News lies that Mamdani "celebrated the October 7 massacre" to zero pushback from Maria Bartiromo

aipac's approach to el-sayed vs. platner is really telling. much, much more energy for fighting el-sayed, the guy who did not have a nazi tattoo. but who is muslim.
It would help a lot if a lot of journalists and pundits weren't using Twitter as their assignment editor, several years into its transition into Stormfront.
It is genuinely bizarre that we’ve become acclimatized to right wingers throwing a tantrum every time a black person (particularly a black woman) is cast in something, but are also supposed to pretend that this is not racism but related to some other substantive concern.
