I’m a Dartmouth professor. Pres. Beilock implies in this piece that she speaks for us as a college. She does not. I don’t permit AI in my classroom. Not because it stole my work; because as I wrote in @chronicle.com, most of my students hate it—and feel betrayed by the college—even more than I do.

Many educators are trying to make AI simply go away—but in doing so, they are abdicating a sacred commitment that has guided American higher education for centuries, the president of Dartmouth College, Sian Leah Beilock, argues.

Miley Kinogue! 🪭 🕺 The self-references in the song, the references to Lady Gaga in the song, the elements of “Edge of Glory” and “Alejandro” (and Madonna’s “Girl Gone Wild” and Bey’s “Single Ladies” in the choreo…) Baby! 🔥

Tell me you know nothing about Gloria Steinem without telling me directly you know nothing about Gloria Steinem. She never sought nor embraced the role of being the face of second wave feminism, you complete dolts. The misogynist goons at Jacobin should never ever be taken seriously.

It’s a shame that the women’s liberation movement was, for 50 years, personified by Gloria Steinem — someone who never really shared that movement’s emancipatory goals.

The irony of an avoidant attachment type is that it can totally be improved if you work on things, but step 1 is having the courage to admit you need to work on things. They usually don't. I just wanted him to try. I still get a little sad thinking of how great it could have been, though. Ah, well.

In which I somehow decided to use the sentence: "A spoon and a Slinky are both made of steel, but only one can climb down a set of stairs by itself, and you certainly wouldn’t use that one to eat soup."

Predicting how #RNA folds would be a valuable tool for scientists, but #AI has not been able to crack the problem. A team at the IGI made significant progress on two key hurdles: limited structural data, and the fact that RNA can take on multiple shapes. Read more: https://ow.ly/Yjgo50ZJcU3

Pity this poor, unfortunate cat, who is being horribly starved by his merciless owners, who have, in their wickedness, not provided him with a meal for at least four hours.

A black cat called Eddie, sat on a kitchen stool, looking up past the camera with eyes that suggest that he is a poor, desperate wretch, seeming not to remember that he’s actually a very well provided-for feline.

If you've been paying attention to the news recently, you may be wondering: what's going on in City Hall? What you might not have heard is that we are doing the work and getting real results for Seattle residents.
