Well, it finally happened! After 9 years of Unity dominance, Godot was the most used game engine for GMTK Game Jam 2026 submissions. 🤖 Godot - 47% 🎮 Unity - 34% 🛠️GameMaker - 5% 🚀 Unreal Engine - 3% ✨ Other - 11%

Kelly Slater's Pro Surfer (2002) how the did they get the water to look like that, this is incredible I don't mean the reflections, look at the shape of the wave as it moves, the lighting, the glow.. This and the game loop are **amazing** and needs to be studied This is lost technology oh my god

I've noticed that I've become a bit hesitant to show the games & tools I'm working on. I'm often afraid that they will be stolen (especially because of AI), or that a cheap copy will appear before I've been able to finish them. Does anyone else share this feeling?

You actually can stop your boss from demanding you use it. My union contract says that my employer can't force workers to substitute AI for professional judgement and we have the right to bargain over impacts of any new technology roll-out.

Love it or hate it, AI has been embraced by corporate America. You might not be able to stop your boss from demanding that you use it, but you can try to understand its promise and its limitations. As we like to say here at WIRED: AI or Die Trying!
