The future of the Democratic Party is proportional representation. The left and centrists should have their own parties which win representation in Congress that’s equivalent to their support in the public. We deserve a better system that enables more parties—and people—to win representation.

Proportional representation, explained

With proportional representation, parties don't win before elections even begin. And they can't manipulate the system to their advantage.

Why are Reform UK leaders so keen to not #TaxTheRich Because - they're millionaires - they're funded by billionaires And think repeating trickle down clap-trap will fool enough poor people again & again to get reelected even though it's been utterly discredited by every half-decent economist

"If you tax them they'll leave" is trickle-down theory. Also, "Billionaires create jobs." Also "Tax cuts create growth." Also "Taxes hurt the economy." Trickle-down theory.

Functioning democracies strongly regulate & tax corporations because corporations are creations of govt meant to operate in the public interest. When you allow money into politics you lose your functioning democracy. Which means the billionaires who own the corporations own your governments.

Major oil firms make $93bn profits in just 3 months amid war and climate crisis. They shift profits, dodge taxes, fuel poverty and inflation. They don't bear the social cost of their business. Forever holding people/govts to ransom. Polluters must pay. Need windfall tax now.

CBS killed story about BofA, Deutsche Bank & JP Morgan Chase moving HUGE amounts of suspicious Epstein money in violation of rules and not reporting it as required. CBS is now owned by a right-wing Trump-supporting billionaire.

"More needs to be made of this," a senior CBS News staffer tells me about the 60 Minutes story that Sharyn Alfonsi was working on about Epstein and banks that appears to have been scuttled after her firing. www.bloomberg.com/news/article...
