Here’s the thing, firing Peters and then Peters walking away invokes a situation of a caretaker government (National led in this case) until an election is held. When the election is held is up to the parties in parliament. He could fire him, unleash full criticism and not have to move the election.

I, a middleaged white man with LW leanings, finds Luxon to be an utter wanker. I don't need to meet Luxon to be confident of my opinion. It is largely formed by the policy he creates and supports, and the behaviour he allows from his Ministers. No amount of smiles and "charm" will overcome that.
