I gotta say, I kinda agree with all of these. But I also have famously perfect movie taste, so it makes sense.
Interstellar over 2001 is actually the most aggressively demented take on the list.

Two things about the new @netw3rk.bsky.social Wait A Second episode: 1. Sick John Prine hat 2. The idea that lots of mythical creatures and myths in general arise from the fact that NO ONE COULD SEE SHIT for most of human history has been my pet theory forever youtu.be/NYnrgzo4St0?...

The human toll of cybercrime is real and it's not spectacular.
Correct. The problem is their infrastructure is so extensive and labor force is free, so what we do on our end has essentially zero effect on them.
I’ve been getting 3x’s more sp calls, texts & emails over the past 2 mos. It’s precisice intrusion data mining, and we all know how how happening. Delete, block repeat.

The modern cybercrime ecosystem rests on a foundation of forced labor.

A Google user left a one-star review of the New Bedford Whaling Museum coining the phrase. Last fall, the museum began selling shirts and hoodies with the review on the back and a whale skeleton on the front. What the museum lacks in in live aquaculture, it makes up for in skeletons.

I finally got a chance to see the Joybubbles documentary. I was honestly surprised by how emotional it made me, if you’ve been involved in phreaking or hacking I think you’ll see a little of yourself in Joe. It centers his story and his struggles and his successes, it isn’t a true crime exposé.
