TTRPG GM - Ask me about my Mage the Ascension Chronicle. I dare you.

Your character sheet says your mage uses Tarot. Okay. What do they actually do with the cards? Shuffle? Meditate? Calculate? Tell a story? Enter trance? Ask a spirit? Mage gets much more interesting when Instruments become verbs.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐎𝐒𝐓 𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞? #poll - Paradox - Conflicting paradigms - Players getting too clever - The Storyteller saying "Are you sure?"

You cannot design away bad players in a tabletop rpg. You cannot build enough guard rails to stop bad faith play. The only rule that helps is, "Play With Better People." Because those guard rails suck for every good faith player that has to bump into them, design for the people who WANT to PLAY.

🎉 Finale Celebration Livestream! 🎉 To celebrate this history making Kickstarter @felicia.day will be streaming live on Twitch. There's going to be a lot of weird shit. Music, dancers, weapon masters, a juggler, a falconer, an escape artist, a fire eater - we're closing this Kickstarter out in style.

As a parent, I don't enjoy events where I'm required to hang out with other parents. And it's because I don't want to talk to them about parenting, the ONE thing we have in common, because one of them will spout some thin cover nonsense for "Kids are property", and I am not allowed to punch them.

i really wish "children are people and people are not property" was not a radical opinion but unfortunately it's the central question up for debate with much of politics

So much of modern political thought - from the election of Donald Trump to the New York Times saying children shouldn't be allowed to cut off their parents - is really just older cishet white people saying it's unfair to experience literally any consequences for their racism,
