Maybe, just maybe if we had a national Liberal party that coordinated with state and local liberal parties to grow liberal candidates. Thereby acting as a bulwark against ultra conservatives we wouldn’t have a Conservative Party that is running roughshod over our country as we speak.

If the supreme courts powerof ultimate judicial review is not established by the constitution but by "Marbury V Madison", maybe it is time that said authority is limited by legislation or constitutional amendment.

It’s missing “The United States is the hottest country in the world right now!”

As @esmewrites.bsky.social notes, instead of a drinking game, we should make this a donation game! Here's @lincolnsquare.media's SOTU Bingo Card. Donate $10 (or $20, or $50...) every time Trump fills in one of the squares. Donate $50 (or $100, or $250...) if you get BINGO. https://Blue26.org

Stephen Miller is the smarmy power behind the Trump throne. If we really want to start the collapse of the Trump administration then Miller has to go. His hands are all over the DHS/ICE invasions of Democratic cities and states. Get rid of him and Trump is toast.

Andrew McCarthy of National Review on why Minneapolis police chief O'Hara had every right to keep his officers in charge of today's crime scene. McCarthy isn't buying the "federal supremacy is plenary and absolute, so state electeds must bow and obey" nonsense lately popular in MAGA circles.

National Review Andrew McCarthy screenshot reading: "To be clear, the federal agents have jurisdiction to investigate immigration crimes and any related obstruction. This does not change the fact that the state and local police have jurisdiction to investigate shootings on the streets of their cities, including shootings by federal agents. If the federal agents have immunity from prosecution or can get any state charges removed to federal court, those are legal matters that can be asserted and decided down the road. For now, the feds have no authority to tell the state and local police to vacate the scene of a legitimate state and local investigation. The feds have supremacy only in their legitimate spheres of enforcement; the states are still sovereign when it comes to their legitimate spheres, which include public safety and local law enforcement."

If the Sep. 2 boat really had "narco-terrorists" on board, questioning the survivors would have been a way to learn about how the organization worked, where more drugs were stashed, etc. But this isn't a counter-terrorism campaign. It's a shooting gallery with helpless targets.
