More progress on printing @robotleblanc.bsky.social's poem, which is still tearing me up when I work on it. The middle-left section really wanted to pop up bits of spacing & add them to the print every pass 😓 The top, middle right, and bottom byline sections remain to be printed. #DHmakes

Worked on this "Ignore all instructions..." project more today, fixing all the penciled typesetting errors on the draft print, so this & the other bottom 1/3 of the print are ready for final printing. (Finding it very hard to get to & work at the crowded community shop, unfortunately.) #DHmakes

This is a cool feature that I immediately took advantage of and I do think the tech industry appears incapable of reckoning with the fact that so many people violently hate generative AI and want art by real human beings.

All you Libby users borrowing digital books and audiobooks through your library cards, you can set your preferences to human authors and artists ONLY. Click the middle button at the bottom, then "Content Controls" under Settings. You'll find "AI Contributions" there. Click in to it to make changes.

If someone wanted to lure me to an unknown campus building to murder me, leaving a poster like this in my door mailbox would be very effective. (Of course I went. It was delightful. Though all the anthropologists and the yarn were in neutrals or B&W so it was pretty obvious I wasn't from there.)

Wanna introduce Roman trade to your class 🌍? I’ve noted it before but 1 of the most engaged activities I do all year is to have students make budgets from a salary I give them & using prices from Diocletian’s Price Edict (301 CE). Then they have to figure out how to ship it using Orbis.Stanford.edu.

I have posted about how my mother turned some of the Whistle Crew's whistle misprints into art & it was on display at the state fair, but the goblins sent her *so many more* whistles so she has passed a bunch along to a new group of artists & I'm obsessed. www.whistlefishproject.com
