I loved this book! You should read it! Many books are compared to LeGuin, but this is IMO one that is actually interested in exploring the topics that fascinated LeGuin it's an incredible exploration of what queerness will look like in the far future also, it's a book that loves the desert

For 24 hours, the ebook of WHAT WE ARE SEEKING is on sale for $2.99 everywhere Tor ebooks are sold, or at least everywhere I checked. I expect there'll be an official promo post later, but I wanted to get the word out as early as possible. www.kobo.com/us/en/ebook/...

i was unsure of this when i published it. i wrote it from the depths of long covid in a year without music. the final paragraphs plagued me for months. i worried the themes and symbols were too many, too messy, too obvious or obscure. i finally read it again, and no. it goes so fucking hard!!! fuck

screenshot which reads: “seeds tinkle on through the balcony grate and down into nothing, down into dark. In her daze Madly sees some wretch of a tree, bruting up from the neon swamp at the bottom of all, burned and battered back in its rise but breaching ever on, its branches a bastard's panoply of radioactive light and dripping sick drupes of cadmium red, galena blue, all gorging up and out into the clemence of a pervert sky.”

HEAVY AS ALL BREATH: Four thousand words of hightech/lowlife slow-burn slurrypunk parenthood guro, free on itch. Mass, capital, damage. A wombful of slime, a pocketful of opaline teeth. The wholeness of little things. palimrya.itch.io/heavy

The Fortunate Fall is one of my favorite cyberpunk books, and sadly its depictions of internet censorship feel very relevant today. Also contains properly crusty neuro implants, at least one whale, and probably the best coming out scene I've ever read

The Kindle edition of The Fortunate Fall is currently marked down to $2.99. This price only seems to be available on Amazon US and Canada. I have no idea how long it will last. www.amazon.com/Fortunate-Fa...

listen, I've read QUIET HOURS and it is SO GOOD, so I need you to go fund the stretch goal for this Have you ever had a bad roommate? what if the nasty tenderqueer and the abusive muscle mommy lesbian weren't the worst thing waiting for you in this incredibly incisive queer co-op housing horror?

Esther Alter@esther-alter.bsky.social · 2mo ago

Yesss @neonhemlock.bsky.social met its initial funding goal for the novella series! Another 2k and you’ll get my novella. You want to feel really uncomfortable about roommate dynamics, right? You want to process your pre 2024 election feelings, right? Well: www.kickstarter.com/projects/dav...

I WROTE A NOVELLA AND IT'S GETTING PUBLISHED. Quiet Hours is queer housing horror. Have you ever had a bad roommate? If so, you know how bad it can get. This is a novella that (I hope) we need and deserve: we're all trying to defend each other from the enemy, but sometimes the enemy is in the house

The finalfinalfinalforreal.doc title is @esther-alter.bsky.social's QUIET HOURS, a truly disturbing and keenly rendered literary queer housing horror. Esther's book will be added to this novella series as our first STRETCH GOAL, so please help us fund!
