I like to imagine when articles like this are written, there's a All The President's Men-like editorial meeting to decide whether to run it.

For today’s @ftweekend.com I am at the restaurant inside the high end Mayfair furniture shop RH London. And it’s chaos. Warm water. Can’t mix cocktails. Run out of hamburgers. Dull food for bored oligarchs who don’t eat. Have a few quotes and a pic of a £22 baked potato. www.ft.com/content/5993...

Drift through its rooms admiring the oversized sculptures, the overstuffed seating and the passive-aggressive war on colour. I was tempted to give myself a quick nosebleed just to introduce a splash of red. While there, do take a look inside the utterly magnificent restaurant at the back of the ground floor, housed in what was once a banking hall. The cathedral-high ceilings are coated in gold leaf and dangle with giant golden chandeliers like crystal udders. There are pillars, acres of polished wood veneer and lots of soft curved seating, picked out by pools of light from dainty table lamps. Gawp at it. Gasp at it. But whatever you do, don’t book a table in it. On my recent visit, the whole operation was a bloody shambles.

A fascinating editorial decision from the BBC, to make the headline a scaremongering “AUTISM AND ADHD ARE BEING OVERDIAGNOSED”, and then, four bullet points later, have the author of the report quoted as essentially saying “nah, that’s bullshit, actually”.

ADHD and autism at risk of over-diagnosis, says report, as author warns of rise in mental ill health
Summary
• An official review in England finds there is a risk of people being over-diagnosed with
ADHD and autism - three key findings from the report
• As well as neurodevelopmental conditions, the review looks at mental ill health, particularly in younger people. Our health correspondent explains the difference
• It was commissioned earlier this year after Wes Streeting, then the health secretary, said there was an "over-diagnosis" of mental health conditions
• Speaking to Radio 4's Today programme earlier, review chair Prof Peter Fonagy said Streeting was "with respect, completely wrong"

As much as we'd all like to look away from what is happening in the name of the US regime, it's very difficult to do so. And maybe that's not so much of a bad thing. The worst outcome is when bad things happen but no-one realises they are happening.

A reconstruction of a typical 1960s West Indian front room in the UK has returned to Fusion Arts on Park End Street (the former Office Outlet) as part of Oxford Black History Month. Created in 2018 for the Museum of Oxford, it has since been shown in Templars Square and Friars Entry.
