Ron Desantis is trying to distance himself from the Trump admin like we don’t remember how giddy he was to show people around “alligator Alcatraz” which violated detention standards, cost $1.2B, and was a propaganda piece for the admins deportation efforts right off the bat.

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro expressed interest Saturday in joining the National Popular Vote Compact for the Electoral College. After gaining full power in 2026, Dems just need to pass the compact in PA, MI, and two of AZ, NV, and WI to give it the majority of electoral votes needed to activate

“You said in 2020 that the Electoral College should be abolished — you now have a Democratic legislature,” Favreau said. “Would you push to join the National Popular Vote Compact, which, for people who don’t know, would award the participating state’s electoral votes to the national vote winner once enough states join, and, now that, after Tuesday, there are now enough Democratic trifectas to actually get to that point?”

“I think that the national popular vote makes sense, my views on that have not changed,” Shapiro said. “I’ll work with lawmakers to figure out what the right mechanism is for moving forward on that, but, look, we’re the ultimate swing state in Pennsylvania. We’re the biggest swing state. We’re proud of that role we play. I think Pennsylvania can still play a massive role even in a national popular vote. And to me the most important thing is that the will of the people is heard and respected, and I think the popular vote is the way to do that.”

NEW: Democrats have gained control over enough state governments to pass the National Popular Vote Compact and give it a majority of at least 283 electoral votes—13 more than it needs to activate by 2028. My story below explains the path forward for eventually electing the president by popular vote

ICE targeting a child, handcuffing them, and forcing them into detention is despicable. It is inhumane. I am calling on the Administration to free this child immediately. Additionally, TPS protections must be restored for all who've had them unfairly ripped away.

Homeland Security said the uncle did not have legal custody, so it took the boy under a 2008 anti-human-trafficking law “out of an abundance of caution.”

For five years, Clarence Thomas told the government his wife made nothing. She made more than $680,000. You’d be in trouble for that. He kept his lifetime seat. He shouldn't. He needs to be impeached. Agreed?

Congratulations to Rep. Wahab on being reelected by her constituents in CA-14! For the second time in recent months, Dr. Wahab has overcome millions in outside spending by Trump donors. That's because she has a proven record of answering to her communities and getting results.

Incredible story here. Victoria Broderick and Lakesha Womack are working-class women. Womack was homeless and living in a motel 7 years ago. Neither of them pursued donors and instead focused on local organizing. They each spent less than $100k on their races. They're both going to Congress.

The great thing about Senator-elect Abdul El-Sayed investigating RFK Jr. is that El-Sayed understands data, he will know whom to hire to uncover RFK Jr.’s malfeasance, and he will be able to see clearly what Kennedy has done. I think what he finds may shock some people, but it shouldn’t.

"Until President Trump and Mr. Kennedy took office last year, and a Supreme Court ruling gave Mr. Kennedy more control over the task force, the panel operated independently of politics, and such financial conflicts were not considered acceptable, according to former members and federal officials."

SCOOP: Half of RFK Jr.'s appointees to the US Preventive Services Task Force were allowed to keep investments in pharmaceutical and other medical companies that make products affected by the task force's decisions, according to documents I reviewed.

DEM FLIP: Dr. Amish Shah has defeated Republican Jay Feely, flipping #AZ01 blue. A doctor and former member of the Arizona House, he is ready to lower costs for Arizona families, protect healthcare, and keep families safe. Congratulations, Rep-elect Shah!
