please reply with any suggestions for feature requests! some from the conf: - ability to record your listening walks (a re-walk?) to help with remembering where you heard or learned something (and maybe post) - comment by timestamp from the site + photo annotations
did a walk with @exgenesis.ingroup.social today around UBC and added basic support for publishing to a new lexicon to view your own walks! (super barebones atm) saunter.henry.ink/profile/henr...
if you want any receipt paper prints, @mention me and find me, sitting near the stairs
…being able to go for a walk in a popular place, and hear *all* tours folks have published nearby, with their volume dependent on the distance I am from where they were when they recorded. So I can fade in and out of conversations by moving, and *literally* follow the conversation I’m enjoying.
Wow, that sounds amazing! I’d love to use it when it’s ready for sharing! I’m *absolutely loving* this idea & the way you’re linking walking with other data. I’m dreaming of being able to sync up my teal.fm listening with a solo walk too, or (omg this needs its own post …)

down to do another walk each morning honestly since it's so nice..
As a PNW native I can't exactly visit vancouver and not try to do a hike of some kind… Any atmosphere conf friends wanna join me tmrw morning?? Looks like several good chill trails right near ubc campus, we can pick beach or woods, get in 2-3 hrs before lunch I'm thinking!
ok now I want to implement a basic lexicon so everyone can upload their walks to my site for the conf as a fun artifact
please find me at atmosphereconf to chat annotations and collections! Happy to share some of my explorations: henry.ink for web, Sauntercast for geo/audio, and for the bible!

idea: a running podcast app where it only plays as long as you keep pace the music version plays faster and slower proportionately, so if the tunes get draggy, you know what to do
friend gave me an idea: what if you could only listen if you were actually nearby? or you accessed the site at the same time/day? or it get louder as you were closer to the points..
(thinking about this for the saunter walking app/viewer)
is there a list of third party appview or other backend services to use or learn from? wondering what's already out there and what i can do.. feeling a bit too open on what to build or not build

how did i just find out about ATmosphereConf haha
trying to make something on atproto and then realizing again that no one wants to create a new acc let alone create passwords.. while apple/google login is simpler now for folks (does bluesky support passkeys yet, is it possible?)

if you can afford it, often $25 or less a year, get a custom domain name so you have somewhere to always point to so people can find you when they want/need to. having jennschiffer.com for so long has been paramount to my mobility online over the past 25 years

New blogpost about atproto It's not federation, it's not a p2p mesh. It's a secret third thing: practical. www.pfrazee.com/blog/practic...
Practical Decentralization
The point of decentralization is to guarantee the rights of individuals and communities on the Internet. Pulling that off is a balancing act between practicality and ideology.

has anyone played around with Airpods apis (head tracking for spatial audio)? my hope is to play around with controlling an app without having to look at a screen.. would be an interesting design challenge and would be great when walking around, on the subway, or just a diff experience
wowowowowow new site atproto.com
We've been hard at work on a new website with new guides, better docs, more translations, even our very own blog. We think it looks pretty sharp, too. It's now easier than ever to just build things with AT Protocol. atproto.com
writing to ask for collab: open invite to chat/call with anyone thinking about both list-type lexicons and collaborative lexicons.. wondering what to do with bible annotations (ref -> annotation). is the list and listItem really the way to go?
probably asked about this earlier, but curious if there's been any progress on thinking through what collaborative lexicons would look like. thinking about this a lot in terms of shared lists (vs just personal ones)? @hyl.st? is it just shared did/pds or an appview aggregates some prefix/string?
made some updates to hopeinsource.com, was fun to think of some new views on the same data (like some other experiments I had)
