Some of my neighbor friends were surprised to hear that the nervous feeling of "nobody will come and also there won't be enough food" is not just for throwing "regular" parties, it's also for book launch parties. But it sure is. Oh geez. It sure is. So...Thursday evening at 6:00 at Moon Palace....

I initially parroted the received wisdom that bright colors are important for a baby's development in the comments, but now that I'm trying to find that research... of course it's turning out be a bit more complicated.

Listening to the Abhorsen audio books for the first time, read by Tim Curry. For someone who's such a big theatrical force, his narration is so... warm. Comfortable. I'm glad that, even after his passing, I can keep finding and being moved by the art he made.

The AI scam emails are so boring and imagination-void, but the ones I get for the Unconquered City (ie, the 3rd book in a trilogy) have an extra layer of absurdity. "Why did you write about the aftermath of a crisis?" Ummm because it was the third book?? Sigh, mark spam.
