(1/4) Jupiter test renders from Voyager 2 data. The left one is from a map I made years ago. The right one is from a new map I'm working on from the same data. The color is better and will be even better in the final version. But the biggest change is that the new map is geometrically more accurate.

No new JunoCam images have appeared since July but there are many older, spectacular images I still haven't processed. I processed this one recently. This is from the PJ14_21 raw image data obtained on July 16, 2018. Approx true color/contrast and enhanced versions. North is to the upper left.

Tried something new. I used WinJUPOS to de-rotate the #JWST #Saturn 🪐 images. Filters (F150W2, F164N) and F212N. Makes the storms and other features better visible.🔭 #astronomy Observation date: 2024-11-29
On this day back in 1995, the Galileo spacecraft performed its Jupiter orbit insertion burn. Due to problems with the tape recorder, no images were taken. However, these images showing the Great Red Spot were obtained on June 26, 1996 during the G1 orbit. The contrast and color has been exaggerated.
