Not going to share the videos, but ICE beat the shit out of some protestors in Frederick, MD who were camped out in a neighborhood protecting their neighbors from getting kidnapped. Fuck ICE

One of my best friends moved to the area. ☺️ I haven't seen her in years and she is coming over tonight. I'm so excited!
Created this for a reply on LinkedIn, but it applies pretty generally, so posting it here, too:
I kid you not, our paper on spatial apartheid was reviewed by apartheid itself. Literally, the (extremely famous) journal sent it to white South African reviewers who pointed out all these "papers" written by white South Africans DURING apartheid, that we failed to cite.
More often it comes in the form of anonymous reviewers saying a topic does not matter; of journal editors saying Black thought is outside of scope; of people on hiring committees questioning the rigor of Black Studies (broadly defined) as a disciplinary approach.
Apparently people are sharing this far and wide on social media, which I think is horrible. This could cripple ICE operations. PLEASE do not share this.
Is the U.S. anti-Black and racist? Of course. Does this mean that Jeffries and others should escape criticism? NO. You signed up to do politics and therefore you should be critiqued like other politicians [not more and not less].

There's a difference between "tough on crime🤡" democrats and good politicians. And no, not all Progressive Dems are good. If Bernie had been mayor of NYC, crime would have gone *up*. 🤷🏿♂️ The specific policies that reduce violent crime have been well understood for decades. This isn't complicated.
BREAKING: New York City just saw its safest summer in recorded history under Mayor Zohran Mamdani. Since Mayor Mamdani took office: —Major crime is down 6% —Murders are down 24% —Auto theft is down 13% Democratic mayors are keeping our communities safe.

Hackers Had A Live Feed Of Every ID This Verification Company Scanned. For Over A Year.
From the very beginning of this recent obsession with identifying everyone online (yes, they like to call it "age" verification, but it always ends up as identity verification), we've been pointing out that it was a huge privacy nightmare waiting to happen. Or maybe it wasn't waiting. Maybe it was already happening. This week a...

4-year-old invited me to a ribbon show. 4yo: Here are the rules! No talking. No staring at your phone. Don't even sing. You can shine a flashlight on me. You can color. You need to be nice or else I will send you out of the show! Those are the rules. Got it? 🥰😂
Money where our mouth is time, I think. @1password.bsky.social, you are not irreplaceable, even if it will be annoying to do so
Hey @1password.bsky.social, time to change course.
keith.is/post/why-im-... legitimately an easy subscription to cancel these days with lots of other options (JUST DO NOT USE LASTPASS)
Why I'm canceling 1Password - keith.is
1Password is giving $300,000 to the foundation behind DHH's Omarchy. I don't want my subscription paying for that, so I'm leaving.

goodbye 1pw!
Stop referring to “the AI market.” Unless you’re competing with OpenAI, that’s not your market. Chatbots, SEO tools, content-creation, design tools, and other now-AI-based applications are vying within existing, saturated markets. Hard to win there:
AI startups require new strategies: This time it’s actually different
The typical dynamics between startups and incumbents do not apply in AI as they did in previous technology revolutions like mobile and the Internet. Ignore this at your peril.

People are arguing with me that Gen AI is better than books for kids. Gen AI is trained on books! I'd rather go to the source than something that is built on theft. Also, Gen AI will hallucinate. I don't want to expose a developing child to wrong information. arstechnica.com/ai/2025/06/a...

Technology being everywhere doesn’t mean it belongs everywhere. The tech industry wants us to believe that AI in early education is not only inevitable, but necessary. We don't see it that way. This week, we announced a moratorium on generative AI for public school students in 2-K to 8th grade.
We devoted the entire (penultimate!) episode of Hard Fork to METR's investigation of the Hugging Face attack, and before I even woke up @deepa.bsky.social has scooped a *second*, previously unknown rogue OpenAI agent swarm attack www.reuters.com/world/europe...
EXCLUSIVE: OpenAI agents hijacked German website in previously undisclosed AI breakout this spring
A swarm of rogue OpenAI agents hijacked a German website this spring and transformed it into a bulletin board for other AI agents, according to new research and two people familiar with the matter.

I can’t believe they are throwing away decades of goodwill over Omarchy. Omarchy! Come on! It’s dotfiles in a trenchcoat. Literally I use Arch and btw, I’m a racist
I have been a 1Password customer since 2006! My whole family is on it! I have moved multiple enterprises to it! Let me just tell you how stoked I am to move 20 years of shit because these people insist on being fascist assholes
And you should do that cleanup BEFORE you ask someone to review the slop you had Claude write for you, please!

This is a *wild* thing to send to your employees. Just canceled my 1Password business subscription. It was super easy to switch, literally just exported my archive and imported it into ProtonPass. Took 2 minutes, and it'll save me ~$100/year.
In an internal Slack message obtained by The Verge, 1Password’s Karimov downplayed the overtly racist comments from DHH, telling staff the following: www.theverge.com/tech/988536/...
thanks to suggestions from people on here i've been using Proton Pass for months now ever since 1Password raised their prices and have no complaints whatsoever

if there are people at 1password making the racists afraid to be openly racist at work, a genuine thank you. no one is paid enough to do that work but it’s not to be taken for granted, also sorry you work with scumbags and your ceo is a colossal baby with no swag
ah yes once again the racists are the real victims
1Password faced immediate backlash from customers this week over a $300,000 pledge in support of a Linux distro created by David Heinemeier Hansson, who has regularly published overtly racist blog posts that include comments calling for deportation of ethnic minorities in Europe.

New from Ramp data: the latest threat to the AI trade. AI companies' revenues are heavily dependent on a small set of customers. 80% of OpenAI and Anthropic's enterprise revenues come from 1% of their customers, and it's not getting better.

And this is why we need to help people stop focusing on a brand name and start hating the surveillance state as a whole.
New: Axon says cops are asking it to change its license plate readers to make them look less like Flock cameras. This is because people keep vandalizing Flock ones. Axon said it is looking to change the design. CEO said this in a now deleted webinar, but we got a copy www.404media.co/cops-are-ask...
