Democratic lawmakers are calling for an investigation into Eric and Don Jr.’s ties to 15 companies that have received $3.2 BILLION in defense contracts. Here's what you should know about their ongoing grifts.

California is debating legislation right now that would ban all ICE employees from ever being hired by a public agency for life. This is good and next year's Democratic House needs to provide a full roster of ICE employees to help facilitate state efforts like this one.

I have received an update: This is being actively investigated as arson. Video security footage shows a woman pulling up and dropping a man off. After he was left there, the house went up in flames. A replacement car has been likely located.

Hello, #brony and #furry community. I come to you today with very sad news about my Little Tikes car, and I may open a GFM later depending on the insurance coverage... A house fire claimed three of our vehicles, and the Little Tikes car was where the fire started. It is unable to be salvaged.

Gotta eat my words—NYT and Washington Post ran amazing Sunday pieces on Gillibrand’s Cryptogate scandal today… Just kidding! Still no mention of the senator’s son scoring $30M less than a week after graduating. Washington Times covered it, though.

Fortune, Inc., the New York Post and the right-wing Daily Wire and Daily Caller have written about this. Pretty quiet elsewhere. Too bad New York doesn't have a major newspaper with social and political influence on an international scale.

“I carry with me a photo of a Muslim child who, during my visit to Lebanon, was standing there holding a sign that said ‘Welcome, Pope Leo,’ and in this latest phase of the war, he was killed. “As a Church, I say again: as a pastor, I cannot be in favor of war.” — Pope Leo XIV

A constant theme in my writing over the past 9 months has been that everything we think we know about federal education—from governance to oversight to funding—is changing. And it will outlast Trump. I’m going to keep urging preparedness. Opposition alone isn’t a plan.

I’m really worried that we aren’t internalizing enough what’s coming down the pike for all schools. Especially with federal funding—but even on the state side, too. We could be 3 years or less away from SCOTUS ending all Blaine Amendments. 1/3

NPR used to feature an array of Black staffers reading the Emancipation Proclamation for Juneteenth. I'm not sure if it is happening today. But in case it isn't, here's a link to hear me and several other staffers of color performing the reading from 2020: https://loom.ly/fBoaADE

Celebrating Juneteenth: A Reading Of The Emancipation Proclamation

On this Juneteenth, NPR is marking the day in 1865 when Union forces arrived in Texas with the news that slavery had been abolished two years earlier with a reading of the Emancipation Proclamation.

"Dem tea party" is correct enough to be an acceptable term despite the fact that it will not look the same as the GOP tea party for a lot of factional and structural reasons and it will likely not lead to the same outcome

The reason "pallettes of cash" became such a sticky anti-JCPOA talking point is because it's vivid - you can hold an image of it in your mind's eye. "$300 billion" sounds like a lot of money but doesn't connect with people the same way. Dems should consider this in crafting talking points

By summer '47, most of the bulldozers have broken down, so they push on with converted Sherman Tanks, known as the Vickers Shervicks, shown here by three guys look as late 1940s as possible.

We're at the stage of the AI grift where major companies like Epic are openly using it... but aren't calling it "generative AI" because they know the majority hates it. They use euphemisms like "emerging technologies" now; be on the lookout for those, and call them out for what it actually is.
