old nerd, does 3d texturing/art/ acrylic paintings; loves animals, science and photography. Collects random things (rocks, tarot cards, fabric samples). I look nothing like my avatar :D
Making "AI caricatures" is trending again, so I though I'd share the trick I used to make my profile pic. I just followed these two simple steps: 1. I identified an artist whose style I wanted to replicate. 2. I *PAID THE ARTIST* to actually draw a portrait. (1/X)
good lord, I love how the most unhinged thing I've ever posted On Here gets the most likes. anyway, I am pure of heart and only make beautiful things like this monarch butterfly cardigan (just finished it this week!)
Congratz Myr! 14K is a big ass number! I'm Hampus and I do art for videogames during the day, and way cooler fantasy and pathfinder art for my homegames during the night!
The commission prize for K'Andra, who won the @blackinastro.bsky.social art contest! I had so much fun painting this transformation of a solar eclipse 🤩

Think I'll read this once a week forever. Patricia Routledge, I love you.
"No one knows" You can read the warrant. There were long-standing efforts by the national archives to get Trump to give back specific documents he took. He refused. So they went to a judge and got a warrant.
Larry Kudlow, interviewing Kash Patel, pretends like it's a big mystery why the FBI raided Mar-a-Lago (it's because Trump was keeping classified documents in the shitter)
A bunch of new prints and a couple of originals just dropped on my website. Check them out! #art #painting #sciart earthskyart.ca/product-cate...
GLOW UP (dino edition): made this 4' tall fluorescent baby brachiosaurus last year for Burien, WA's annual Arts-A-Glow festival. Paint job insp by alebrijes. Wasn't satisfied so I resculpted the head, redid the paint job, and gave her some fake ferns to munch. #paleoart #sciart #dinosaur #sculpture
Despite all the handwringing about “intellectual diversity” the reality is that higher ed exposes young people to a vastly different array of people and experiences than almost anything else you can do.
going to college, living in an international dorm and meeting brown kids from africa, dark-skinned kids with african features from india, spanish-speaking chinese kids from argentina, and many others changed the way i understood the world in some pretty fundamental ways

Not only is it exhausting to be a caregiver many people are still required to work full time jobs. The only way you can get paid as a caregiver is if the person you’re caring for is eligible for Medicaid. That’s it.
So about that 3D printer @hollyanderson.bsky.social
Don't just tell the staff, although that's important. Write a note to the branch manager, system director, and maybe even the collections dept. Post about it on their Facebook page. Talk about it at library board meetings.
Yes, telling librarians you appreciate their inclusive collections is a good thing. Even better is putting that appreciation in writing to administrators and boards so that the librarian has a record of your remarks and contact info in case support is needed in the future.
