While we’re talking about Arday, and people saying “but why aren’t people having a go at white academics who do the same”, fair point. This man should have been fired. This is like a bank worker with their hand in the till.

it really is remarkable *how mild* the op-ed that she wrote was. It really shouldn’t matter what she said, but I think they chose to make an example of her precisely *because* she didn’t do anything remotely wrong. They wanted to show they could do this to anyone.

We have had surveys that have shown us exactly this in the UK, France, the EU etc for many years What we need to ask ourselves is why have journalists, politicians, academics etc chosen to focus on surveys that hype immigration This is what I explore here: journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/...
This is really the main thing everyone should be thinking about. At this point just being out as trans or "looking like" an immigrant in public or affirming that gender is complicated or that racism & misogyny are bad or that Trump et al are fascists - are all variously risky. So do *something.*
