Open weights, Apache-2.0, policy-driven safety model? 🤩 We’re happy for fellow travelers to be releasing more accessible tools for safety. We look forward to digging into Shieldstral more and potentially working more closely with Mistral here; it seems like a perfect fit for our Model Community!

Stuck in thunderstorm travel hell, but hoping I make it to Dallas tonight for the 38th annual Crimes Against Children Conference. This is my fifth CACC, I believe, and I look forward to listening and learning from the law enforcement, advocates, and hotlines that do this important work every day.

I have so many ideas for starters, the recurse center is literally next to a good dosa spot that does filter kaapi and chai
I'm not saying the possibility of a lunch train led by @julietshen.bsky.social is reason enough to go to @atproto.nyc community day but it is a *very* good reason to go. blog.atproto.nyc/3mrionom6ck2k
we've shared previously that we were planning another community day for August 22nd at @recurse.com, here are the details! more to come soon on talks and workshops 👀

We even discovered some huge users of our projects that we had no idea about! A year ago, ROOST was an idea that was hatching—now we’re changing the industry, centered on open source & collaboration. And we’re just getting started. 🐣
I swear I have a real job… I’m home after #TrustCon where @roost.tools was EVERYWHERE. We presented in 6 sessions across 3 days, largely thanks to @julietshen.bsky.social. Even when we weren’t in a session, we got countless shout-outs from T&S pros encouraging folks to adopt our tools.
That's a wrap on TrustCon 🐓 3 days, 6 sessions, 1 launch (Osprey 1.1.0!), many chicken hats. Favorite moment: non-engineers building working moderation rules in our workshop — safety tooling you can study, modify, and use. One year of Coop & Osprey. Just getting started.
We're VERY excited to release the latest Osprey - the first release since our 1.0 in March. Huge thanks to all the contributors, especially to @discord.com who upstreamed a number of new features to the open source project!!!
Just announced at #TrustCon: Osprey 1.1.0 is out! Dark mode, registries that show what your deployment actually does, comparable benchmarks, and groundwork for plain-language queries.

I've had so much fun moderating panels with some of the best people in Trust and Safety (and rocking my 马面裙)! The first was about the Tooling Research Committee and what the work streams are working on The second ft Discord, Notion, TELUS, and Musubi. Everyone plays a role in OSS and ROOST!
TrustCon day 2 💚 Thank you to everyone who packed yesterday's panel on what open source means for your T&S stack with @julietshen.bsky.social. Fitting week: 1 yr ago today we introduced Coop & Osprey. Today they help protect 360M+ users, including 45M events/day right here on Bluesky. roost.tools
"To me, AI safety is a subset of trust and safety. It's the same intervention logic, the same changed to systems, that we've been doing for 15 years" Del Harvey talking to Dave Orr at #TrustCon
If you’re curious about this open source and free tools thing people keep talking about at #TrustCon, join @julietshen.bsky.social and I at 12:15pm today for the open source lunch meetup. Bring all your questions, requests, and ideas!
My keynote at #TrustCon yesterday was a heartfelt love letter to frontline Trust and Safety workers. I even managed not to tear up, go over time, or (I hope) tell too many early Google war stories.
And I didn’t crib *too* much of my material from the great @feerst.bsky.social. It’s always so tempting, though. onezero.medium.com/your-speech-...

I may have inadvertently prompted a new generation of people to go looking for Goatse. @julietshen.bsky.social described a ripple of murmurs around her as that happened. TBC I in no way suggested that they do this.

@daphnek.bsky.social is the keynote speaker for TrustCon and I am over in the crowd fangirling my fave
this year, #TrustCon turns 5. @charlottewillner.bsky.social speaks on how our field has grown from a fledgling to a mature and known practice. The Pope talks about content moderation! We have standards! Wellness programs! Curriculum!
I love TrustCon because @charlottewillner.bsky.social's opening speech mentions real and synthetic dick pics
