#pretendpanel Despite listing some of my favorite narrators, I have no idea who would best fit my own works. But I’d go for one or two narrators depending on POVs, not individually casting every single character. Aim for a “someone reading to you” vibe over “big audiodrama” feel in most cases

I think I need to swap audiobooks for work. Getting a big collection of classic short stories/novellas means running into a formula published over months/years (so people had breaks from them) day after day. They aren’t bad, I could just use a palate cleanser.

Strike that, I hate gatherings of any kind and wish I wasn’t as susceptible to others’ powers. As I walked away from Donnar Halle, where at least a thousand of my family were celebrating Yule, I tried not to think. I’d been susceptible and vulnerable metaphysically since Claude died thirty years and six months ago. It got worse when Leighla was taken this spring, and even worse when my mother, Isabella sacrificed herself in June because I gained some of her power. I concentrated on the moment, the cold nipping at my cheeks, and the crunch of the snow beneath my feet. I cleaned off a wooden bench swing that faced the valley and was a good distance from the revelry. Dropping onto it, I huddled around my mug of coffee and mead while I took in the view. It wasn’t enough to banish the glimpse of the future I saw when Odin’s aspect of Fate triggered my power of foresight.

Can we find some way to Morbius the mold terf’s stupid wizard show? Yes, it's a streaming show, but there has to be a way we can meme a bunch of out-of-touch yet terminally online executive producers into making a big, expensive blunder. These guys caved to the Snyder Cult, it can't be that hard.

#SundaySnips As far as coffee goes, I agree that AC > PS Longer snippet. The group are taken to the MC's favorite spot to get a bite to eat for a last meal before the final leg of the journey. This lets him see their less proper eating habits. #writesky #writingcommunity #writingprompts #hqpress

All three faces lit up once they took a bite. Maxi let out a little chirp, wolfing down the meal in a way that signaled they were done with conversation until every crumb was gone. Ginra tilted her head and talked as she chewed. “I know the spice. I just can’t pin it down.” She was taking a few smaller chunks and trying to analyze it, sniffing one and licking another. Shogum grunted at her before she went back to eating normally. Weirdly enough, the giant was the one with the best table manners, a calm smile on his face as he savored the meal. “Kosoléan.” He said after he swallowed. “At least that’s the main one. Kicks the same way, anyway.” After another bite, he continued. “Don’t know how she got a hold of it. Even if she’s growing it at home, it must have been a pricey venture to get the seeds for the plants from the mountains to here. And that wouldn’t be enough to use constantly.” “Ash ain’t the only one with trade secrets.” Toka said with a wink. “And that’s one heck of a tongue you’ve got on you, big man.” “Years of travel.” He replied. “You get to know your favorites.”

Went and did this. I’ve been out canvasing for state senate/house and county-level elections for months, but the only races I can vote in are the statewide ones. Really hoping Louve can pull a an upset in the Senate race. 🤞

Jay shouted, storming up in her teal wingsuit. "Plenty of bad guys put "The" in their name! Hell, some of the heroes do it!" "But it messes with our naming scheme!" Firecrest countered. "We all just go by the bird name, and you mess up the flow of it!" "Besides, we wouldn't use "The" in casual conversation." Yellowhammer added. "It sounds fine, I just need to go last. It's Oriole, Firecrest, Yellowhammer and The Jay!" She said, counting her fingers. "See? It flows just fine!" "Yeah, but that's just because you've got the only monosyllabic name!" Firecrest argued. "It just feels out of place! Either all of us do it or none of us do, isn't that right, Null?"

#pretendpanel LOVE them. It’s my main method of enjoying books because of my job. It’s not a replacement for physical books; both have their own strengths. Different =/= Lesser. Voice work in general feels under-appreciated, but especially here. A good performance can really elevate the experience.
