YES to this defense of broadening the range of voices and perspectives in the humanities: “Mellon will continue to resist this narrowing of the scope of study of the human experience because it threatens the integrity of the humanities at the exact time that more expansive views are needed most”

Recent personal achievements include: dropping the eldest off at sleepaway camp for the first time and holding it together; solo camping & starting a functional fire in order to make coffee; eating blackberries and blueberries and wineberries (!!) on a hike; seeing one million mushrooms (evergreen)

I think if @mayor.nyc.gov is serious about reform, he should provide a lot more data around testing, understand the grave legal threat that the Discovery Program is under, and realize there’s no way to “prep” around this problem, the test is doing what it was meant to do bsky.app/profile/posi...

The FOIL has been closed, denying me the information I requested by saying I asked for information that I didn’t I’ll appeal, but I’m not holding my breath Keeping taxpayers and citizens unaware that girls pass the SHSAT at far lower rates than boys is worth violating the FOI Act over I guess
