Liberals have been very concerned about mis- and disinformation in recent years, so when Mark Carney says carbon capture will allow for “decarbonized” oil, we should be clear that he’s engaging in active disinformation about climate change to please Danielle Smith and the Alberta oil industry.
On top of austerity, we’re also looking at further deregulation. The political right did a great job of vilifying Trudeau to set the stage for a right-wing turn in Canadian politics.

Trump just signed an executive order banning vote by mail and ordering the defunding of any state that does not follow through with it as well as engage in massive voter roll purges. There won't be free and fair elections ever again. If you're waiting for 2026, it's already too late.
Totally agree with this. Flying a person to a third country that they may never have been to, directly into a prison where they are going to be forced to do hard labor, is not a deportation; it's something else entirely.

i keep reading statements from democrats saying they find mahmoud khaleil's views to be abhorrent and despicable before going on to say that he should nonetheless be given due process. but no one has been able to demonstrate what khaleil's views are beyond the admin's assertions. except for cnn:
If you go digging into state bills that restrict trans care you will always find exceptions within those bills that explicitly allow for surgical violence towards intersex children. The sex binary is not a natural observation but is instead an ideological imposition enacted with violence.
