A short thread explaining trans exclusion in the law, and the Code of Practice, in response to a load of questions 🧵 Obviously this is necessarily simplified. I cannot write a legal textbook on Bluesky.

Torturing people (that's what prison is, it's why the papers get mad when they don't think prisoners 'suffer enough') until they recant the heresy of knowing the obvious: that the entire British ruling class are genocidaires. They know it won't achieve that goal, it's an indefinite cruelty licence.

“A terrorist sentencing also means defendants’ serve at least two-thirds of their tariff in prison, much longer than is the norm. To obtain parole they must rescind their political views.”

Palestine Action activists face being sentenced as terrorists over bank damage.

I still can't believe that it isn't more widely known that the rancorous split between the Bolsheviks and the Mensheviks that significantly defined the Russian Revolution started over whether to expel a domestic abuser. Organizing has literally always been like this! This isn't something new!

NGL, if you look at any popular movement or org that was doing well in the last 30 years or so that suddenly collapsed there was probably a rapist protecting themselves by bringing everything else down in the middle of it. Abuse is *the* central organising issue.

If you have any position that the org cannot function without? An abuser is gonna worm their way into it unless you stop them. Any central clique that informally controls access and info - there's an abuser who will use it to protect themselves.

If only there was some sort of highly popular political platform that Democrats could align behind which has been proven to outperform billionaire slush funds on a shoestring budget. Such a pity there are no models or platforms for the Democrats to adopt and work with. Guess it's just the (R) Reich

Democratic National Committee is horribly struggling. Republican National Committee is sitting on nearly $130 million. While DNC is $2 million in debt. Bad management of DNC but also another sign that the energy in the Dem base is for change--not the establishment. www.nytimes.com/2026/07/26/u...

1. PIP is not an out-of-work benefit, despite the rhetoric from the government and the conservative press. 2. This will be used to justify attacks on disability benefits instead of increasing minimum wage, because as a society we fucking love punching down at our own expense.

🚨 NEW: Teenagers claiming PIP for anxiety are receiving £100 more a week than those working the maximum hours in a minimum wage part-time job

TBH a rule of thumb is that if a protest doesn't cause enough disruption to get noticed it's not a protest so much as a parade. We don't have friendly journalists on retainer at the telegraph so we probably ought to give them something to clutch pearls at.

150,000 marched yesterday in London for trans rights. Opened the Sky News app. Scrolled and scrolled. Nothing. BBC News app. Nothing. Guardian app. Nothing. This is what actual silencing looks like.

I think this is the frustrating thing about large scale trans organising ATM. People are radicalised in opinion, for obvious reasons, but have not been able to radicalise the their tactics. The trans pride movement since the first one in Brighton over a decade ago has been a huge success.

The entire structure of the police demonstration facilitation infrastructure is designed to reduce conflict and disruption caused by protests and that's a problem for anyone who wants headlines

It's not "too woke" to say that straight men who rape women should be reviled for being rapists, not tarred as secretly queer. To imply they're gay, or that they wear dresses, to distance them from manhood, is to insist that their violence is "deviant" rather than utterly banal and normative.

Love watching Labour absolutely fucking cook itself for a generation by using their one golden opportunity to shuffle the same gaggle of cunts around instead of absolutely wiping Labour Together + Blue Labour the fuck off the front bench like they should have. Masterful statemanship, truly.

Mahmood staying as Home Secretary, McFadden staying as Work & Pensions Secretary, Philipson staying as Equalities Minister and John Healey appointed chancellor. The bar is in hell and yet Andy is still deciding to try and limbo under it. What an absolute fucking waste of space.
