Skysquare

@skysquare.app

Read Bluesky posts about articles on the web—while you're reading them in your browser. Skysquare finds Bluesky posts about the web and places them alongside the pages themselves, showing who shared what pages, what they're saying about them. skysquare.app

If you’re following @skysquare.app: today we launched @link.skysquare.app, an experiment in automated posting from the “Skysquare universe” dataset. Link finds the most-shared articles—any of which demos the sidebar’s power to help filter, sort and parse bsky commentary around what you’re reading. 👇

Top 10 most-shared articles in the Skysquare universe over the past 24 hours, as of 4:00 PM PT. #1 · Shared by 377 accounts.

Whether you use @skysquare.app or not—very high chances you don't 😬—I am curious if people would think it more creepy or more useful if there were a "readers you know" feature that let the user see who in their graph has shared links to the publication before. If you have any thoughts please share!

X shuts down apps that show its posts. Bluesky exists to ernable it. One of these networks is about promoting freedom, the other is not.

nitter.net is down. xcancel.com may go soon, too. all the respect to the folks at nitter for their services so far, but to be honest, X completely locking itself out of the web is probably a net positive for us all in the long term

Cease and desist
On 24 August 2026 cease and desist letters have been sent by X Corp. demanding a permanent takedown of Nitter instances and the project's repository.

nitter.net is offline and development has stopped for the time being. I'm seeking legal advice and won't be commenting further on the specifics for now.

Thank you to everyone who used, hosted, packaged, donated and contributed to Nitter over the past seven years.

@skysquare.app reveals patterns some interesting patterns. Some articles have thousands of shares. Clear in those cases that the article drives engagement, less the poster. Here's an edge case in the data set, 5800+ shares of @jeffreygoldberg.bsky.social 's "Signalgate" story from @theatlantic.com

The Trump Administration Accidentally Texted Me Its War Plans

U.S. national-security leaders included me in a group chat about upcoming military strikes in Yemen. I didn’t think it could be real. Then the bombs started falling.

Here's something interesting you can see about Bluesky when using @skysquare.app that isn't available in the feed. Look at this post from Mamdani yesterday, sharing a CBS News article. It has 809 reposts and 3.5k likes. But this article only has 3 other shares on the network.

After six weeks of careful migration work, we’ve completed a major rebuild of Skysquare’s data infrastructure—giving us a cleaner, more scalable foundation for the volume of data we’re processing today and the much larger system we’re building toward.💪 Please let us know if you run into any issues 🙏

big video update today! 🚢 now in beta: - you can upload videos up to 10 min long - video uploads should be much faster than before - upload progress indicator should be more accurate try it by enabling beta features here: bsky.app/settings/bet... may take a bit to fully roll out. lmk how it goes!

Notice: If you’re having trouble with Skysquare right now, please sign out of Bluesky in the extension and sign back in. That should resolve the issue. There’s a bug in the current release that can cause errors when your Bluesky sign-in session expires. New version is currently in review at CWS.

This is the low level protocol hack I was teasing! 🤯🤯🤯 @scottlanoue.com is the developer of @comail.at - email trust with atproto accounts. Now he has “login with atmosphere” supported as native accounts on GrapheneOS, with forked & patched native apps @bsky.app @blackskyweb.xyz @stream.place

Happy Friday! I've been building towards an "Atmosphere OS", where my atproto account is the identity layer on a real phone. I wrote a little bit about it here:

Hofstadter’s Law strikes again! Our infrastructure upgrade has taken longer than expected, but we’re finally nearing the finish line. Thank you to everyone sticking with Skysquare at this early stage—and for your patience through the service interruptions along the way. 🙏

📣 Infrastructure update: Over the next few days you may notice occasional service interruptions as we deploy a major backend upgrade. This work is focused on making Skysquare faster, more scalable, and much less expensive to operate. Thanks for your patience!
