A self-keyed space gives notifications a home you control: every app gets an append-only sink to write into, you pick the reader that turns them into pushes and emails, and allowing or revoking an app is an access control you already have.

Insanely, @cousinronnie.bsky.social's company did an instagram live selling antiques and they said something had the word "cocaine" on it and now their small business is banned from instagram live for a year because an AI tool flagged it and there's no human customer support - and no recourse!

One of the worst features of modern life is the ability of social media companies to destroy users by whim, with no recourse, no accountability, and no expectation of any type of adjudication process whatsoever. It's extra gross when it's an AI doing it, but it's also totally fucked if it's a human
