Carol Johnson stitched over 600 of her New Mexico State Fair ribbons into a quilt and earned another ribbon – plus a spot in the Smithsonian.

The most absolutely massive flex from the state fair exhibit. This quilt is made of 40 years of prize ribbons from various categories at the New Mexico State Fair won by Carol St. Clair Johnson. She also won a prize for this quilt.

I made this digital collage for Fernandina Meth-Gators #6, which I put out last September. It's funny that I have been thinking about the ideas that inspired this collage again now that September has rolled around once more.

this is a digital collage on a lavender background. there are pirate coins, shark's teeth, a small key similar to the type that would come with a diary or child's lock box, smarties candies, marbles, a plastic barrette in the shape of a butterfly, a pink ribbon, gummi bears, starburst wrappers, a Brownie Girl Scout patch, a fountain pen, and two 1980s stickers, one with spaghetti and meatballs that say "Super Stuff!" and one with a Cabbage Patch Kid that says "Cutie-Pie". These are in various places in the collage, layered over a paper bag from Publix supermarkets that reads, "Here are some tips in the event a hurricane approaches", a handkerchief, a photograph of a woman walking a baby alligator on a leash, and a crumpled up piece of notebook paper that reads "...the store to pick...-stay home and...door locked - do not ...come over. Love, Mom."

I am not an illustrator. At all. But last night I realized that there has to be a CIA internal newspaper and it must have a comic strip. I decided it was called "CIA FUNNIES" so I made this.

Sometimes you need to boldly reinterpret the classics to meet the modern audiences. The last time this necessary exercise was performed on this tiresome Brontë tome it was a bold semaphore version, but even that was a half century past. Now it's time for its 2026 equivalent
