we wrapped up the first of our meetings at @cais-research.bsky.social for our post-polarvis initiative. Despite the rocky start (between people falling sick and delayed trains) it was a very productive 2 days. We managed to make real progress. More to come in the next meeting.
#computationalsocialscience Our work on using VLLMs for semantic visual clustering is out on SSCR: journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/... There is a lot happening in the space of computational analysis of visual content as we acknowledge more and more the visual nature of contemporary communication.
