I like that the Dave Baker & Nate Simpson videos are a rare example of a positive public exchange on the internet. Both left me feeling inspired and hopeful.
My best advice to new comics ppl getting published for the 1st time is get an agent or lawyer to look at the contact and fight for better royalties & ownership of your work. THE 2ND is to not assume the publisher is doing things for you like submitting things to awards, copyrighting, marketing, etc.
