So Okay Here's the Thing

(he/him) If you recognise me it's probably from my shorts about D&D
Yall gotta get LibreOffice it's wonderful
The most terrifying enshittification I've discovered has been learning that Microsoft Word documents no longer auto-save if you are not saving them to one of their own proprietary cloud services. I'm slapping control-S like it's 1999.
THIS IS WHY!!!! WE CALL!!! GREAT JOB EVERYONE 🩷 KOSA did pass the house but remember the senate has a conflicting version. Keep calling, it matters!
SCREEN Act, which would have required mandatory age-verification for sites (like this) that allow "material harmful to minors" failed to pass out of committee after thousands and thousands of people called their Senators. More work ahead!
.......y'know, come to think of it, why DID paper mario ttyd have that prolonged naked princess peach sequence? like they could've just made the potion work on her dress, too, right? why did... why is... why did they do that? what?
That's what taxes are, man. That's the definition of taxes. "You are subsidizing things you might never use" man shut the fuck up. My taxes currently subsidize like oil company exec private jets, you think I'm upset at low-income people eating inexpensive bananas?
Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.
i could gush about how good slay the princess is, but tbh you should just play it and find out why it is good for yourself
"Videogames are so expensive these days" Incorrect, Slay the Princess is one of the best videogames and it is very cheap, you just make bad purchasing decisions
slay the princess under 10 dollars
a classic react image I made for my discord a while back:
also, in case this needs to be said YES I'm anti-ai, I'm EXTREMELY anti-ai, if you don't know how ravenously anti-ai I am then you don't know me at all, do not attempt to paint me as pro-ai, FUCK ai I just think people are jumping to conclusions about this specific situation and ignoring nuance
ohhh I see. people just didn't actually read what hank green said, and didn't listen to his actual words, they just heard "hank green" and "AI" in the same sentence and went "ah yes I see where this is going" and started angrily writing fanfiction about him
I mean, you're not wrong. As an addict (especially to non-substances since it's hard to get those taken seriously in recovery communities, unless it's gambling), it fucking SUCKS to be demonized for your problem instead of supported.
every day as an artist online I wake up and make two prayers: I pray that I continue to be able to make enough money to earn a living doing this I pray that I never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever make anything anywhere nearly as popular as The Amazing Digital Circus
deeply sad what zionist propaganda has done to the idea of being Jewish, even just within the community. Making the world a better place, tikkun olam -- that's the whole thing. That's Judaism. All the rest is commentary.
Just got sent this cartoon from @thankyoumoon on tumblr and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't cryin in the club a little right now
this is what really gets me, I think. the Make People Addicted To It Box got someone addicted to it, that guy has realized his problem and is trying to get help, and immediately thousands of people said "clearly the addicted guy is the real villain here" like. hey? hey???
> local man says he's been struggling with a drug addiction and that he's taking steps to address it > immediately his inbox is flooded with people saying "I thought you were different!! I can't believe you sell crack to kids!! I'm never trusting you again!!"
ohhh I see. people just didn't actually read what hank green said, and didn't listen to his actual words, they just heard "hank green" and "AI" in the same sentence and went "ah yes I see where this is going" and started angrily writing fanfiction about him
Well, that's the thing about dopamine and people. Everyone gets it from different things, depending. And this tech is addictive by nature. Will it be that way for everyone? No. But it's definitely designed to be and I think it's wise not to assume anyone is immune. Sort of like cults and propaganda.
As a confirmed dopamine addict who has thrown myself off bridges and out of a plane in the past chasing some of that sweet stuff, I genuinely don't get it
genuinely I'm more excited for this one single drawing of elain than I was for any TADC episode. look at her!!! look at her!!!!!!!!
"Boycotts never achieve anything" factoid is actually a statistical error. Boycotts are an enormously successful pressure mechanism for collective action. Boycotts georg who launches a million boycotts every day with no thought given to target selection is an outlier adn should not have been counted
any response to transphobia that falls short of open hostility is support, as has been the case in the defense of the most politically vulnerable population at any other point in history. politeless and decorum are dark alleys where disenfranchised people are hurt and killed out of your sight
This one has some history: the KNORK was developed for Civil War amputees who couldn't operate knife & fork separately, allowing them to cut and eat with one utensil & hand, but different angles. Neat!
the whole "people using chatgpt to write long essays instead of just BSing it" thing is concerning. like how are you gonna stall your kidnappers long enough for batman to rescue you if you don't have experience spewing bullshit???
anyway respect trans people or you get the Li'l Tony Special
"How could Ancient Egyptians possibly do this?" has a similar energy to something I saw elsewhere, which was "how can someone write a ten page paper without ChatGPT?" Things weren't impossible before modern conveniences and tools, and there is actual information on these things one can find.
We like treehoppers and all their oddities! 📺: youtu.be/ZgyAnhlGUIY?...
"Humanity is fundamentally evil and selfish" sounds like a skill issue tbh, even in the darkest times it's the kind people that keep everyone going
humanity is so chock-a-block full of good people and it overflows with such positivity. that’s why only bad things show up on the news, because it’s the only thing that’s out of the ordinary.
